Letters and Engagements
Subject: Ella's disappeared and Daphne is engaged. Where: Wexley's family home. Who: Daphne Wexley and an appearance by the note Ella Wexley left her. Warnings: TBC Open to: Daniel Perkins and Johnny Wexley
Daphne had decided to put off announcing the engagement for another day, it now being nearly a week since Daniel had actually proposed. Many things seemed to just come up and disrupt their announcement. But today, no matter what, she wasn't going to allow a distraction. She'd tell the cook if she had to! Dressing and smiling at Daniel, who was still asleep in bed, she headed towards the door to go downstairs for breakfast, when she saw a note folded on the floor as if it was slid under the door. Picking it up, she read it, her brow furrowing. "Oh no," she said softly, shaking her head. Ella had ran off to London for the Lord knows why and for how long, and Daphne couldn't help but think that it was her fault her younger sister was doing something this stupid. Of course, she had to have been the influence for this sort of thing, having ran away herself for 4 years to pursue something she felt she had to do, and Ella had always mused in her letters how she wishes she could be like her.
Daphne could hardly be upset with her younger sister, since that would be terribly hypocritical of her. But why on Earth would she feel she must do this, and at this time! Well, that's one less person she had to worry about having a reaction to her and Daniel's engagement. However, now Ella's disappearance was going to cast a shadow over what should have been her and Daniel's day. But she had to look on the bright side, she thought as she trotted down the steps and down the hallways towards the kitchen. Perhaps her disappearance would take the pressure off of the engagement and Johnny and Mother wouldn't be so critizing of them. Unfortunately for her, she had to be the bearer of bad news since the note was obviously meant for her eyes first off. She did wonder, though, if she was the only one who received a letter.
