"Oh my!" Ella exclaimed, her eyes going wide. But her shock was not due to causing a scene in a public place. She was instantly taken by how handsome the gentleman hovering above her was. He was helpful and attractive... could he be?
Ella naturally took the gentleman's hand and allowed herself to be pulled to her feet again. She set about smoothing her lavender and cream coloured dress and made quite the show of trying to look over her shoulder at her backside for grass stains. Satisfied that there were none, she immediately turned her attention to her gentleman rescuer, though one hand strayed to the ringlets that spilled over one shoulder, her updo completely ruined.
"Thank you so very much, good sir," she said and curtsied, remembering herself for a moment. "A dreadful thing has happened, and please excuse my behaviour, but the breeze decided to borrow my hair ribbon without my express permission and has seen fit to place it in that tree! And of course, I am Ella Wexley, and it is my pleasure to make the acquaintance of such a kind gentleman as yourself. I do not suppose you are a professional ribbon rescuer?"
Ella gave the man a bemused smile as she gestured to the tree in question.
