Subject: A Correspondence Who: Evonee Régnier Where: France to England Warnings: None Open To: Lucien Régnier
Lucien, my dearest brother -
I do hope you are well! I worry about you so much. Write me immediately and tell me where you are and what you're up to.
I have to tell you, sometimes it's terrible being in France without either of my brothers. Whenever I think about what is happening out there, in both France and England, with all this revolutionary business...it's getting so violent, Lucien. It scares me, and the thought of my dearest brothers out there in the middle of it .... My nerves simply cannot stand it. Please let me know that you are alright.
Papa is doing much better. He is moving around fairly well, and he says our names. Sometimes he mumbles in his sleep. It's hard to make out, but I think it's safe to say he's just as worried about his sons as I am. The doctors come to check on him every so often and they tell me that there's been a significant improvement. The doctors tell me not to expect a full recovery, but I hope for it.
If you are able to meet me, I am hoping to travel to England in about a fortnight. I have some things for you. I don't trust sending them in an envelope, so I would like to deliver them to you myself. I miss you terribly.
