She noticed his feeble look to acknowledge her and emitted a soft sigh as she placed the tray of goods down on the table beside him. He seemed so lost and forlorn by the fireside that she simply wanted to hold him in comfort. "I have brought you something. I hope it is nice - you used to like it in Paris and I thought that perhaps it would bring back fond memories. I asked the cook to do it especially how I made it!... well, I helped him a little - a lot, actually, I practically took over. I dare say he will spit in my next meal."
She chuckled lightly, hoping to make the atmosphere a little brighter between them as she set about pouring tea.
