Daphne hardly moved. All she did was sniff, the tears rolling down her face, smudging the ink on the letter she still held in her hands. She was not sobbing, not yet. But her whole body was shaking. Her hands, unable to hold the letter any longer, let it drop and it floated down to rest on the floor. Daphne hands slowly went to her face to hide her tears and sadness from Daniel. He wasn't supposed to see her like this.
