Daniel had arrived home on time, tired but nevertheless happy. Since the hunt, Daphne had been his constant distraction. He wanted to spend every waking moment together and though he had admitted during that night at Bailston that he loved her he had not repeated it, save for the actions that he hoped would tell her by doing them.
As he was told by an irritated Yvette he had someone waiting, Daniel made haste to go to the bedroom but his tired legs dragged somewhat up the stairs. Once he opened the door to find her sitting static in a romantic setting he immediately feared the worst.
