Edith had been asleep for several hours now, having excused herself to her room immediately after dinner. There were no men to entertain tonight and no reason for her to sit up and talk to Eward like she usually did. But the feeling of something combing through her hair woke the young woman and the sound of a man's voice caused her to growl.
"Eward, go away. I am not in the mood for you," she snapped, not opening her eyes as she turned away from him and cuddled against her pillow. She found it rather low of him to wake her in the middle of the night, only to play a joke on her and claim to be Lysander and so she decided right then that she hated Eward even more than she already had.
