Katherine shivered involuntarily when Eward held her gaze; it was neither like him to do nor expected by her. When he looked away, Katherine lowered her eyes, almost visibly shaken by his stare. Swallowing, she fingered the stem of the wine glass nervously. It was utterly unlike Eward to be as civil as he was being without too being sarcastic or deprecating. And that scared Katherine, as much as it had the night at the theatre.
Nodding, Katherine took another sip of wine, but she was not really so thirsty or desirous of drink. The liquid barely touched her lips when she pulled it away; it seemed unappetizing. In response Katherine offered, "I suppose." She couldn't form more complex answers, and so continued, "And you?"
