Evan could barely breathe, as Jared took the glass from him. There was something about the act, it felt...incredibly raw and intimate. Evan felt exposed and vulnerable without that glass in his hand. He was pretty sure he wasn't supposed to feel that way, but he did and it was an incredible, almost heady feeling. Something Evan had never really experienced before.
Jared all but snatched the glass out of his hands, and helped himself to the drink. Evan's drink, straight from Evan's glass. But Evan wasn't upset, how could he be? It was actually kind of hot, which again was something Evan had never really experienced. He'd never felt this way, and he thought maybe it was the alcohol, but he hadn't actually had that much. Two shots and maybe half of a screwdriver.
Was that enough to completely change the way he experienced the world? He didn't know, and he wasn't going to ruin the moment right then by asking Jared what he thought. No, not when Jared was putting the glass back in Evan's hand after taking a drink of it himself. Evan didn't even look down at the liquid in the glass, his eyes were entirely focused on Jared, even as he brought the glass to his lips and tossed it back, downing whatever was left in one gulp.
And then he was reaching over to try and set the glass on the bedside table at the same time he was leaning forward and finding Jared's mouth with his, lips locking as the glass dropped to the floor and Evan's other hand went to the cat in his lap, unconsciously aware that cats had claws and he didn't want to get his thighs cut up if the sudden lurching of his need to kiss Jared disturber her. Arwen objected, and pushed off Evan's legs, thankfully she had been declawed, so Evan was spared being sliced to ribbons as she jumped away.
With the cat no longer an issue, Evan shifted, all but pulling Jared closer, their lips still locked in a deeply intimate kiss.
