Jared watched the other as he apparently tried to make sense of what he had just said. Jared was pretty certain he'd made sense but with as fast as the liquor was hitting him now, and as buzzy and happy as he was feeling, he couldn't be completely sure. Then the other was assuring him that he felt nice and Jared raised a brow when the other brought the drink to his lips, taking down a good portion of what was left in the glass.
Jared would later swear that he was just making sure Evan didn't drink too much too fast but at the moment, all Jared could do was stare into those eyes that bore into his as he drank deeply from that glass. Jared almost moaned at the sight of Evan's Adam's Apple raising and lowering as he drank. Fuck, but Jared wanted to chase it with his mouth and teeth and Jesus Fucking Christ. There was no way but Jared was sure that Evan was challenging him. As if to say that if you don't want me drinking all of this right now you'd better stop me. But Evan... Evan Hansen willingly challenge someone. And that someone be Jared.
Shit, whether or not that was what Evan was doing, even just the idea of Evan doing it was hot. It went straight to his cock and before Jared could really make sense of what he was doing, before his brain caught up with him, Jared had sat up and slid closer. He'd removed the distance between them and had taken the glass from his best friend. Then, his eyes locked with Evan's, he smirked. It was his flirtiest, and probably his dirtiest smirk to date. He then drank at least half of what was left in the glass, licking his lips as he pressed the glass back in Evan's hands, his fingers lingering for far longer than would be considered an accident. When he removed them finally, they fell to the bed between the two of them, Jared's eyes still locked on Evan's.
He could feel it. This invisible tension that was taut. It was almost palpable and at any moment it would snap. For better or for worse, the tension would be adressed. Jared's hands clutched at the blankets beneath them as he hoped for better.
Damn you, Evan Hansen. Do you see the mess you make of me? You are to blame and you better fix it. Or I may never forgive you.
