Jared grinned when Evan spoke more clearly than he had in a very long time. Just as clear as he was when he was siging. He wasn't stupid to think it had anything to do with his being with him. He knew it was the alcohol and so he gave himself a mental pat on the back. He did find himself wishing that maybe, just maybe, he had a little bit to do with it. He took the shot back, and licked his lips, chasing the flavor with his tongue. Damn, that stuff was good. Not very strong, but it would do well for Evan. For himself, he felt warm and happy but not even near buzzed.
At Evan's approval of the stuff, he smirked. "I had a feeling you'd like it," he said, reaching out to take the shot glass from him. He made absolutely no attempts to mask the way his fingers brushed along the back of Evan's wrist as he took the shot glass, letting them linger for a few seconds as his eyes darted to look into Evan's. He flashed a hesitant, sort of flirty grin as he pulled back, setting their shot glasses on the table.
"I'm taking one more of these but you're gonna wait," he said, and glanced at Evan. "Those still haven't hit you fully and while its not really strong, this is your first time. Plus you take meds, right?" He raised his brow for a confirmation of sorts. "So I'm going to make sure I don't give you too much at one time."
He filled his shot glass and took the shot, this time allowing a content moan to pass from his lips as he straighted once more. He flashed another grin at Evan. Okay, that one he could feel just a little bit more. His head was just slightly buzzy and he decided it would be a good idea to make the drinks and get the two of them upstairs. He'd take the Fireball with them just in case Evan wanted a bit more later.
Adding ice to Evan's glass, he then filled it one third of the way with vodka. He then topped it off with Orange juice, pushing it toward him.
"This is a Screwdriver. Taste that, tell me how you like it?"
As Evan braved the new drink, Jared filled his glass with ice, half way with vodka, and topped it off with Mt. Dew. The way he'd made Evan's drink, he should have barely tasted the alcohol, if at all. His own drink the alcohol was clearly present, but the Mt. Dew sweetened it and made it all magically work together.
"Now this, you nurse. Don't drink it all in one go. Alcohol takes awhile to hit your system. You drink it fast and it's all gonna hit you at once. That's the mistake rookies make. They think oh, boo hoo. I don't feel it. Drink it faster. Drink more. No. Nurse that, steadily. Trust me, you'll start to feel it soon enough."
He winked at Evan as he busied himself putting the ice and the mixers away. He would leave the vodka on the table.
"Grab the shot glasses and I'll get the Fireball. We're moving this party to my bedroom."
He led Evan down the hall, though really, Arwen led the way. As soon as they got there, he put the Fireball down on his desk and moved to his bed. The room wasn't messy, necessarily. All dirty clothes were in the hampers and his clean clothes were in the dressers or closet. The room was evidently lived in, however. Bed wasn't made, books and game controllers around the room. It wasn't as small as Evan's bedroom, but it wasn't humongous either. Cozy, was what Jared would call it.
He lounged out at the head of the bed, against his pillows, stretching out his body as he looked up at Evan.
