Victor was gone. Haroun was dead. Piotr was losing the people he cared about one by one. It made him worry about Illyana. It made him decide not to make plans with Kevin. People were not permanent. Even Professor Xavier had been taken away. It was a lot to handle. Piotr went into the art room, needing to just let go of things. He set up a piece of paper and picked up some charcoal and began to draw. Piotr wasn't sure what he wanted to draw but his hands seemed to know. They flew over the paper, letting out emotion he'd been holding in for far too long. Loss. Always loss. He felt tears hit his eyes, blurring his vision but he continued to draw. His fingers smudged lines, blending, fading...
He took a break, grabbing some water. His fingers left black marks on the bottle. After taking a long slow drink he moved back to the drawing, staring at a face he would never see again. Haroun had told him they could never be friends but that didn't mean they weren't. He stepped back to the picture, using the condensation on his fingers to help with the drawing. He worked for a long time without pausing for much else besides water when the rock in his throat became too much for him. Hours later, fingers aching, his work was finished. It turned out darker than he'd intended, much more sad. Parts weren't quite right but it was what he'd wanted to make, without knowing he wanted to.
He picked up the finished drawing and rolled it up carefully, tying it with a piece of string. Then he attached a smaller piece of paper.
Remy,
I don't know if this will help or hurt you. I just felt like you should have it. If you want to throw it away, that's perfectly fine. If you'd like to talk, I'm here.
Piotr
