Thread: Roommates Characters: Billy Kaplan and Remy LeBeau NPCs: -- Location: Stark medical bay, Stark School, Manhattan NY, NY Timeline: 7/28/13 Afternoon Description: Billy and Remy are some sad cases, just can't get away from being roommates, it's density destiny, and they talk for really the first time. Rating: PG-13 (for square words, le gasp!)
It was probably strange that Billy and Remy hadn't talked before. They had been roommates at Stark's for about a month now, maybe more. But between Remy spending most of his time with Haroun when he was alive, and Billy spending his time with Brandon, and then all that happened after the Fourth of July, the two boys just never had the time or the inclination to do any traditional roommate bonding. They were very different. It took one of them falling off a roof and the other being beaten by mutant hating hoodlums for them to be side by side, their beds arranged beside one another with the curtain opened, and both of them being conscious for it to come down to exchanging more than just a few words in passing.
"So," Remy smirked a little, shuffling a deck of cards with just one hand, fingers dexterous and agile as the cards flitted and mixed in a repeated and practiced motion. "You remember to lock de door of our room, by chance? Turn off de lights?" he asked lightly. Not that Remy had anything of value in their room - Rogue had his sole possession of value, not counting the lockpick kit she'd left with him that Remy had stashed under the mattress and had a hell of a time concealing when they came to change the bedding.
As soon as he was able to sit up and stand on his own without getting dizzy and blacking out, he was breaking out of this joint and going back topside. Fuck this. Broken bones notwithstanding. He'd deal with the moral dilemma of asking a healer for the rest once he got some real rest and some fresh air. He eyed Billy with a raised eyebrow, finding it just a little bit amusing that they both suffered from similar injuries, differently acquired. More seriously, joking set aside for now, the Cajun mutant asked softly, "Feeling better? You look a helluva lot better than you did first I saw dem bring you in."
