The coffee machine made a pleasant ding! behind her to signify the readied coffee, and she turned around once again to pour two cups of coffee out - one for him, and one for herself. She poured milk into both cups, along with teaspoons of sugar, before lifting them and settling herself beside him on the couch. Not before she handed one cup to him, of course. He looked like he'd appreciate coffee. Even if he doesn't, he could just leave it on the table.
She placed a gentle hand on his forearm, shifting so that she was looking straight at him. "Everyone makes mistakes, Tegoshi-san," Her tone was a firm one, though at the same time still gentle. She wanted him to understand that mistakes does not mean the end of everything for him. It wasn't how the world works. She gave his forearm a gentle squeeze, "You've made a mistake, yes, but at the end, the kid was saved. Isn't that what matters for people like us? That, at the end of the day, the patient stays alive and healthy."
