Toma shifted in his seat, resting an arm on the tabletop and nodding in agreement. They weren't homophobic -- but of course it would be an awkward living situation, and there was no need for all that unnecessary awkwardness. Toma was all for embracing new people and welcoming them into his world, but if it made Pi uncomfortable, the question wasn't up for debate. He had to protect his best friend's interests and concerns, after all -- only people who wouldn't be risking anything shady in that spare room.
