We keep this so dramatic
CHARACTERS: Melaina & James Potter
SETTING: Ministry of Magic
DATE: April 4th
SUMMARY: Melaina is toying with the Auror department, reminding them of their vulnerabilities.
Polyjuice had been used this time, stored in a little glass bottle tinted red and shaped like a heart because that was just her style. Melaina wore the body of a pretty brunette: tall, early twenties, pouty lips, blue eyes, a coat of makeup to top it off. The original young woman was a muggle playing tourist in London, her English broken, and very nice about the incident in which Melaina 'accidentally' bumped into her and drew blood. No one batted an eye as she walked through the auror's office, dressed smart in a little black dress and flats, carrying a parcel in white paper.
For all their tightened security, getting in had been easy. These days Melaina did it just for prove she could. It was entertainment, seeing the aurors scramble to figure out how she got in this time. Should they close the floo booths? Or perhaps they needed to double the patrol around the designated apparition area. Certainly she couldn't have someone on the inside helping sneak her in, could she? Two vocal Extremists had been fired from the Ministry already, but it was like chasing air, trying to figure Melaina out.
As the tall brunette, Melaina approached one of the auror desks. "This is the auror's office, right? I'm supposed to deliver this?" She held out the parcel, the perfect amount of cluelessness in her tone. "Magical Catastrophes said this was best handled by you guys," she answered when asked who sent it. They'd have someone look into it soon, she was told. For all they knew she was an intern, an errand girl. No need for concern.
She was clear of the ministry a few minutes later, but she hadn't been worried about that part of the plan. Getting out was even easier than getting in. She simply went to an apparition point. It would probably be a while before they opened the parcel. It was unmarked, made of plain white paper and about the size of a textbook, weighing less. She had gotten inspiration from the old Anthrax letters, in which white powder was mailed to the FBI which contained deadly anthrax spores. Unable to get her hands on an actual anthrax strain, she had found another slightly-less-deadly bacteria strain that she could present as white powder, which once inhaled would shut down the immune system and kill the victim within two or three weeks. Very muggle, not a trace of magic so it wouldn't set off any special detectors for deadly enchantments. It wasn't incurable, indeed Saint Mungo's had a better chance of curing the victims than muggle hospitals did, but that wasn't the point. If she wanted the aurors dead, she'd do it directly, no messing about. This was just to scare them.
