Amelia's frankness was enough to surprise Scorpius into momentary silence. He was used to the girls who were eager to please, and he was used to the girls who kept their heads down because they were forced to be there. If he was going to be honest, the bluntness had made her that much more interesting. He came out of his shock with a smirk of amusement, sitting back in his chair and crossing his arms to observe her over the table.
"Call me Malfoy," he spoke. An old habit. His given name was reserved for friends and family, those he felt worth of speaking it. Not that he could stop certain Liberals from using it anyway.
"Frankness requires a certain amount of trust. Trust can be more-easily given to a complete stranger than to a partial stranger because at least the complete stranger cannot tell your secrets to someone who should not know them. That being said, an honest conversation sounds much more preferable to the one you and I were about to have."
Scorpius paused for a sip of his wine. "We both know that each of us will leave this date having to return home to disappoint a hopeful family member. In the meantime, I am willing to make this interesting. Tell me, what do you actually want to talk about, Ms Rowe?"
