CHARACTERS: Amelia Rowe SETTING: Skittle's DATE: March 11th, Evening SUMMARY: Amelia is at work, not that you can tell.
The barkeep was sweating.
Not mind, because of the heat, the bar was not near full enough for those issues, and the March winds kept blowing in the doors to freshen up the chill in the room. It was Monday, a day he was supposed to have rest. To relax, to even throw back a drink or two with the crowd. It was supposed to be regulars, locals who were just looking for a good time. What it was not supposed to be, was a member of the sober!patrol (a 'cute' nickname he and his coworkers gave to the alcohol office) sitting in the far edge of the bar counter, legs crossed in her dress robes and heels. She sat there, taking casual notes and sipping from a complimentary glass of wine. She hadn't told him, or anyone what the inspection would cover, so clearly he was on his toes.
Amelia could have come during the day mind, could have come in the off hours, but where was the fun in that? She was busy during the day, and Skittles was busy during the evenings. Clearly the schedules were meant to be, and who was she to argue? So far her notes included a rough sketch of one of the patrons, sipping at his glass, a list of dates she wanted to look up when she got off work, and the number of young witches and wizards that were double carded at the bar. Since it wasn't an extensive inspection, merely one that was passive and observatory, they were mostly in the clear. But who was she to inform them of that?
