I've always wanted to be different. I've always been different, at least as far as my family was concerned. They were always on the move, mingling with the upper crust, high society. I never liked that crowed--made me feel stifled. Too much conversation about nothing. I wanted to be someone, wanted to be special. Like my brother, without all the politics.
Then I found out that I was different, and eventually learned that with every ability I pick up, I'll keep getting more and more different from everyone else. Most people have only one ability, except for Sylar, and he didn't count. He cheated to get his powers. These abilities have been nothing but trouble since I got them. The only two I don't hate are healing and flight, because I got them from the two people in the world most dear to me. The others...I can do without.
If I could do it over and not have these abilities, not be special, would I do it...no. These powers were gained through pain and suffering, and not just by me. But they also got me where I am. I wouldn't change that for anything. |
