Who: Trip & T’Pol
When: A couple of days ago
Where: T’Pol’s Quarters
What: Neuropressure & etc
Rating/Warnings: Low/None
Status: Completed gdoc

T’Pol had to admit she rather liked the kind of routine she and Trip had fallen into. Being so close to each other’s rooms had definitely helped, and when they were on the same shift pattern they often dined together followed by neuropressure sessions which, more often than not, turned into spending the night together. While she wouldn’t like to admit it outloud, T’Pol was finding herself relaxing more and Trip was a big part of that. She was different around him, she knew that and couldn’t say she minded.

That evening she had finished a project later than expected so they had eaten apart but she was expecting him anytime now for neuropressure.

Hitting the buzzer outside T’Pol’s door, Trip couldn’t help grinning as he thought about the cozy little schedule they’d established here. Not being chief engineer felt weird, but it also meant his duty roster wasn’t as full as it would have been on their Enterprise and neither was hers since she wasn’t First Officer here. Between that and their quarters being so close, they saw a lot of each other and he definitely wasn’t complaining. Especially given where these sessions led more often than not.

T’Pol was just finishing lighting the candles when the door chimed and she hit the button to let him in. “Good evening Trip” she said, putting down the lighter and turning to him, “How was your shift?” It was a conversation they had most days and T’Pol had to admit she liked hearing what he had been doing. They had worked well together in engineering on a few occasions back in their Enterprise and they always made a good team. His passion and her logic, somehow, complemented each other. On most occasions.

“It was good,” he said as he came in and approached her. “Pretty uneventful, but that’s not a bad thing. Just means we’re staying out of trouble for once.” He grinned a little at his own joke. Staying out of trouble wasn’t something their Enterprise had ever been very good at. “How did you project go?” he asked her. “Anything you can talk about?”

“I have to admit I did not ever think I would miss trouble” she replied, it had always worked out well for the most part and she found she did miss being part of the team. “There is very little to say, things continue to be...frustrating” They would hit upon an answer eventually but T’Pol wasn’t used to things eluding her for so long.

“More work on analyzing the nebula data?” he asked as he started to get into his usual position for their session. He almost missed the trouble himself. He definitely missed Archer, but it was different not being part of the senior staff. It freed up his schedule, but he still missed being on their Enterprise and being a part of the team they’d had there. Hoshi and Malcolm were there, but there were others missing. “I was hoping the Doc putting together those teams might lead to some more answers.” Even if he couldn’t exactly go home, it would be nice to know more.

T’Pol nodded, “Indeed. Yet so far it has led to more questions” She found she missed Archer’s style of leading, she had become accustomed to it while on their Enterprise and sometimes she found those she worked with here less easy to get along with.

She got into position with Trip and felt some of the tension leave her as they lay hands on each other.

“Well,” he said as he worked some of the tension out of T’Pol, using the methods she’d showed him years ago, “this is a new venture. Maybe with so many people working together, that’ll change.” Neither of them had plans to return home, he didn’t think, but he knew T’Pol would feel better with some answers and he suspected she wasn’t the only one.

“Perhaps you are correct” she said, relaxing under Trip’s touch and allowing his words to soothe her. “Not that being here is unpleasant, it would simply be good to know how it occurred” she added, because like Trip she didn’t wish to return home. Despite everything she was happier here, being with Trip was something she wanted and however illogical it may be she would take that over anything else.
