Jadzia turned her head a little, gesturing to the pattern that ran down her face and neck. "Non-human, from a planet called Trill. We've been a member of the Federation for thirty years here, and well over a hundred where I come from. It's hundreds of light-years from Earth. And yes, the spots go all the way down."

She gave Mako another smile, her voice lightly teasing. "Mako it is then. I'll save Ms. Mori for a formal occasion."

	Mako looked a little surprised and blushed. "Interesting," was all she could muster. She tried to change the subject, "The blue, in my hair? It's not natural. I dyed it that way." She was thankful for the shift back to names. "Yes, like if we do end up working together. Which is likely. This outfit isn't very big... compared to what I've seen before." "It's very pretty." Jadzia picked up her drink as it arrived and gave it a taste. "Mm. There's only about four hundred people on board, yes, but there are at least a dozen ships just like this, and hundreds more of various sizes and configurations. And that's just Starfleet. But I can't imagine what it must have been like. Pulling everyone together against such odds."

She knew a little of Earth history, and how divided it had been. It had to have been at least as hard as getting everyone on the same side against the Dominion.

"A wall sounds like they were either desperate or out of touch." It seemed like every species had their old hardliners who were honestly idiots.

"Altairian Brandy, from a planet in the Altair system," Jadzia explained. "Very smooth tasting, with a kind of..." Jadzia searched for a word that Mako would understand. "Well its a berry that has no earth-analogue. But it's very sweet after taste."

	Her hand did brush Mako's and Mako noticed immediately-- it wasn't often she was touched. She blushed and took the drink. She was very dainty about taking a sip. "Oh, that is nice." "Sure beats synthethol," Jadzia said, winking at Mako. "In my experience, life is for living and we should enjoy it where we can."

She looked back towards the bar. "I just wish I could get the damn replicators to give me raktajino. A little taste of home would be nice."

Her thought reminded her of her project. "I there was one thing from where you're from you'd like to see, besides a person, what is it?"

"Synthethol is alcohol without the after effects. It doesn't taste quite real enough for most people, and most people miss the buzz, too," she explained. "And Raktajino is Klingon coffee. Really hard to come by here."

She reached over and patted Mako's hand. "I think I can show you Tokyo. Early 21st century, right?"

The Jaeger might be a bit more difficult, she'd need a description.

"Honestly, it's kind of awful but when you've got early duty it's the only thing available if you really really need a drink." Jadzia put her hand over her chest. "I can assure you I've never shown up to duty drunk or hungover. My previous host on the other hand..."

She nodded. "I'm working on modifying a cargo hold into a special kind of suite. In my time, it's common for off-duty officers and civilians on space assignments to spend time in holographic adventures, particularly if it's a deep space assignment. You could be Sherlock Holmes for an afternoon. Sail the ocean. Or visit your favorite cafe back home."

	"Most of the time." Get her off duty (or comfortable with fellow officers) and she was a little less professional. At the very least she could be very teasing.
