She shrugged. "Oh, no, don't worry about it. A friendly game is just fine." If he were Jim or Spock, she'd be playing to win, but having a fun game was just as well to her.

Carol got down the triangular rack and began to put all the pool balls into it on the table so that they would be arranged in a perfect pyramid.. "Do you want stripes or solids?"

Poe nodded, friendly game sounded good to him. It would probably always be his game of choice, though he did have a bit of a competitive streak which showed itself every now and then.

"Stripes, unless you have a preference" he said, willing to change should she wish it.

"I don't," she replied. "Solids will be fine for me."

After removing the rack and placing the cueball in front of the pyramid, Carol struck it with the cue. The pyramid broke and the other balls scattered across the table.

"So where are you from?"

"I was born on a planet called Yavin 4 but as a pilot I've traveled all over the galaxy" Poe told her, "It's not a known system here, from what I can tell. And you? You seem used to this kind environment"

Carol nodded. "I was born on Earth and spent most of my life there. I came up to space a few times because my dad was in Starfleet. He became an Admiral eventually." Best to leave it at that. Unfortunately, she didn't like talking about her father anymore.

She aimed on one of the solid colored balls, smacking the cue into the white ball. It bounced into the intended colored ball, but she miscalculated just a tad, as it didn't go all the way into the pocket.
