T'Pol could certainly understand the want, and perhaps need, to ensure the safety of crewmates, it was not a job so easily put down and picked up again.

She almost felt an urge to roll her eyes, obviously Trip's bad influence. "I have little wish to partake in this kind of evening. I am a starfleet officer not a dignitary, making small talk is not what I was trained for" she admitted.
