Welcome to the Deck 5 Lounge

Travelers are requested to be in the lounge at 19:00 for a briefing on the Enterprise's upcoming visit to Fornax. The briefing will begin promptly at 1905 and last approximately 15 minutes. Senior officers will be available for questions until 20:00. Afterwards, enjoy the lounge per usual!

Fornax IC/OOC Information

Crew and travelers will remain lodged on board the Enterprise but can sign up to be transported down to the surface of Fornax over the course of the 10 days while Captain Kirk and his senior staff work on a Federation Trade Treaty with the Fornax High Council. Excursions to the Fornax surface will last no longer than 12 standard hours at a time and each transport can accommodate up to 12 people. Sign ups will be available and as long as there is space available, travelers and crewmembers alike can visit the Fornax capital as often as they'd like.

Fornax is a desert-planet with a red sun. There are three main colonies on the surface. During this shore leave opportunity, we will be visiting the colony capital of Fornaxim, located in the center of a dried-up ocean cavern. Highlights of the capital include a being-created reservoir and waterfall; the city's hydroponic gardens; two casinos (18 and older only); the Museum of Interstellar Settlements & Travel; and a pod-racing track. Food is root-vegetable and wild game based, and the Fornaxians are known for their distilleries, which produce a potent raw rye whiskey.

Picard was there. He arrived early and found a place where he would be in a good position to ask questions if he had them, and listen easily to what was being said. He encouraged anyone from his Enterprise to sit with him if they wished.

Anakin was also there, he attended with Tahiri (probably?) and also was there early, if not quite as early as Picard, and tried to place himself in a good position to hear things.

All of mine were there.

Chin was on time. He sat near the front and listened attentively.
Howard was half-listening toward the back, but perked up at the mention of shore leave.
Hannah was on time, likely sat with Neville and got excited at the mention of the hydroponic gardens.
Max showed up late, wearing her chef's whites, because she had trays of goodies in the oven and wasn't about to let all that work go to waste. She left during the Q&A but wasn't disruptive about it, because she still had work to do.

	All of mine were there. Pike was early, and I imagine was involved in part of the briefing, y/n? Phil was there and taking notes in case there was anything the TLO needed to be aware of. And probably offered to help coordinate the traveler shore leave shuttles. Shepherd Book, Will Solace & Reyna were all there as well. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	Spock was there, of course. Sirius was there with his mates, and he definitely would have leaned over to James and told him they needed to do pod-racing, whatever pod-racing is. And Lucifer was there paying attention with interest. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Hawke was there paying extreme attention since that's her job now. Or at least she was trying to, though she looked distracted at times. As mentioned, Varric sat next to her! Tony was there, he fidgeted with his PADD a lot. Anna was also there with the Frozen people! She listened to the briefing with rapt attention! NEW PLANETS! 	Both of mine were there. Malcolm just wants to make sure people are safe while attending meetings, he's happy with whatever information he's given, then all he wants to do is enjoy the planet amenities and meet people. Narvin is more interested in the politics of the situation but also visits the museum. He won't eat game. (Reply to this) (Parent)

After the briefing, Beverly sought out Dr. McCoy to ask about the Federation's knowledge about the Fornax people's biology and medical treatment, if that sort of knowledge has been traded between the two governments thus far. There's not much on Memory Alpha about Fornax, beyond it being shown on screen during an OS episode, and it being mentioned in a TNG episode in an illusion created for Riker, so I don't want to presume too much information about how much is actually known about it in Bev's time. *takes a deep breath*

IC Narratives | Peter & Open to Multiples

Peter sat against the wall, five feet up the wall, with his feet tugged beneath him with his hands resting on his knees. Sticking to said wall, he was currently holding his PADD in front of him, toying with it as he worked it over in his hands, tilting it about, playing with some of the software on it.

The meeting hadn't started yet, but he was early like usual. He didn't have any real obligations save with the science crew, so getting there earlier didn't really bother him. He was dressed not in his blues, or normal clothes, but in his Spider-Man costume, mask tugged down over his face. This was a formal briefing for a formal mission of some sort. Every mission he'd ever faced as Spider-Man had always been as... Spider-Man. So he intended to show up ready to do his job. Wondering what the briefing could be, as this was a different process than before.

	So I actually do have a question, or more of an offer or proclamation... something whatever. I had the idea for some sort of... plot, player based, that could happen with this planet since it's also mission-based. Unless there was a plot moment you guys already had planned, but I suppose it could be a side plot or... something. If I can put that here, not sure. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
