WHO: B'Elanna Torres and Kathryn Janeway
WHEN: Breakfast time
WHERE: Mess hall
SUMMARY: Breakfast and conversation
WARNINGS:

If B'Elanna was being honest with herself, she'd admit that she was very upset that Tom had gone back to wherever and whenever he was from and also that as incredible an experience it was to work on the Enterprise, she actually missed Voyager. Oh, she didn't miss the struggle through the Delta Quadrant and all of the ridiculous things that happened to them, but she missed Tom the people, the rest of the crew. She missed being in charge of her own engine room.

She sought out Captain Janeway in the mess hall. Though she had their differences back on board Voyager, B'Elanna found herself more readily seeking out the other woman here now that they were stuck back in time and through space. "Do you mind if I join you, captain?" she asked as she gestured to the chair across from Janeway, her food tray in hand.

Kathryn was glad to see B'Elanna approach her during Breakfast. It felt that despite living on the same ship the two of them hadn't spent much time together which was a shame. Still, she supposed they had their own things to do and it wasn't exactly a usual situation they found themselves in, not that they often dealt with 'usual situations'.

"Not at all, B'Elanna," Kathryn said with a smile. It felt good to be called Captain too, she had to admit that she had missed it. Not that she wasn't getting used to answering to Commander but after so long as 'Captain' it felt odd not to be so. Kirk was a good Captain, it just wasn't the same though. "How are you?" she asked her friend.

"I'm fine," B'Elanna said quickly, shaking her head as she took a seat and started in on her breakfast. "I have to be honest though, I'm missing Voyager. Even being stuck in the Delta Quadrant." She smiled a little and didn't want to bring up Tom or anyone else from their crew who wasn't here and might never be here.

Kathryn nodded. She understood that, even being back in the Alpha Quadrant for her was an odd feeling. Sure, it hadn't been long since they had arrived back but it was still an adjustment. At least here they were on a ship. "I understand that, even being back home was an adjustment. Then we only had made it home for a couple of days before I arrived here so..." she shrugged. "Voyager was home for so many years I think it is natural to miss it. Well the Delta Quadrant wasn't exactly boring. I admit I'm finding this bit too quiet at the moment," she admitted indicating the ship.

B'Elanna remembered the captain telling her before that they had made it back to the Alpha Quadrant, finally, even if she hadn't gotten to that point yet in her own life. That was one of the sticky things she was still forcing herself to understand - how people she knows were from different points on the timeline.

"It is too quiet. Wasn't the Enterprise supposed to be busier than we even had?"
