Daniel nodded, he understood being trained to do that but it didn't always help. "I know, I worked for the military back home though as a consultant. It helped... Sometimes," he shrugged. He had gotten better over the years but if there was no mission to go on he'd work and work and work and wouldn't stop for hours until he was interrupted for one reason or another.
"I can imagine that. I haven't figured out what I'm going to do here but the change in ob is always odd. Still from what I can tell of Starfleet you're all very good at adapting so I'm sure you'll be fine," he smiled at her. "I understand that about the bonds though. While I have a couple of friends here it isn't the same as having the entire team, the people I've worked with for more than a decade," he admitted. They had gone through so much together, they were family. Now, most of them weren't here and he wasn't exactly sure what he thought of it.
"If you don't mind, a coffee would be wonderful but only if you're having one too," he replied with a shrug.
