"Business before pleasure, Red," he said with an equally mischievous smirk as he dropped into the seat other seat in the booth. While Howard would openly admit to being something of a social butterfly (because it wasn't like the papers would ever let anyone back home forget it), he knew there was a time to buckle down and get work done and there was a time where he could play. Getting familiar with the ship, with the crew, with the incredible, glorious mechanics of the Enterprise- that had to take priority over everything else, even friendship. At least for the time being.
Still, all work and no play made Howard a very dull boy.
