WHO: Kaylee Frye and Montgomery Scott
WHEN: 226407.08
WHERE: Engineering
SUMMARY: Chatting. Maybe nerding about engine stuff.
WARNINGS: Probably not.

One thing that always struck Kaylee was how clean the Enterprise was, even in the engine room. It was one of the many ways that it differed from Serenity. She was used to her job being gritty and dirty, something that she had never minded. Here it just seemed like getting dirty was frowned upon.

Not that that ever stopped her. Kaylee would crawl inside small spaces and engines whenever it was required. She did the kind of stuff that required a human touch, stuff to delicate for a robot to handle. Often that meant her uniforms got dirty, another thing she didn't care about, even if it earned her looks sometimes.

Today she was sweaty and covered in grease after crawling out of an air duct that needed cleaning. Kaylee entered the break room to get some coffee, wiping her hands on a towel. She nodded at Scotty, who was standing near the coffee pot. Looking down at her uniform, she realized that this one was probably another lost cause.

"Well," she said with a shrug. "Laundry'll get it out. Y'all got some great laundry here." It seemed like such a minor thing, but back home she had coveralls with stains on them that never quite came out.
