"It's nice to have more hands in leadership, I'm sure," Carol replied. She never would have guessed that Jim felt that level of insecurity as he always seemed so confident. In her opinion, he was an excellent captain, one of the better ones she had worked for.

She smiled back at him, eyes meeting his for a moment and then looking down at the desk. "Right," she said. "If I have to be on a Starship, I'm glad it's this one. I never thanked you for not reporting me after I technically lied my way onto this ship the first time."
