Carol liked Jim too. Moreover, she respected him, which went a long way with her. If she had to be pulled off her project, she was glad at least to be put back on the Enterprise.

She nodded before continuing. "Yes, I think that would be wise. How incredible it is that he's here!" Carol hadn't known Pike very well in life, but he'd seemed like a good person, another person she could respect. She was glad that she might get the chance to know him now.

"Anyway, I wasn't able to get copies of the files, but I do know who created them. I think that my knowledge of them was what may have gotten me reassigned to the Enterprise."
