WHO: Daisy Johnson and Jemma Simmons.
WHEN: 226405.07.
WHERE: Outside Medical.
SUMMARY: Daisy goes to greet Jemma.
WARNINGS: None though vague mentions of violence.

Daisy had started to think she’d be alone on the Enterprise for her entire stay, not actually alone but that no one she knew from home would show up. After months it really was starting to look like no one she knew would be pulled through by whatever it was that had brought them all here. At least that’s what it looked like until she’d seen two names crop up. Coulson and Jemma were here now, they were here and she couldn’t wait to see them.

She’d already spoken to Coulson over the network, they’d briefly talked and it had transpired that he was from the future, not by much but enough that he knew more than she did. Daisy wondered if Jemma was also ahead of her in their timeline. Instead of waiting for Jemma to post on the network Daisy had decided to go and find her friend. She needed to see her and check she was okay. Given the last time she’d seen the other woman there was a very real worry that she wouldn’t be okay. Daisy wouldn’t truly relax until she laid eyes on her best friend.

The only problem was Daisy wasn’t entirely sure where Jemma might be. It wasn’t like this was the Playground where Daisy could easily work out where Jemma would be, this was the Enterprise, there were so many places someone might go. Thankfully Daisy knew her way around the computer system now and with a few taps she managed to narrow down her search area. She wasn’t at all surprised to find out that Jemma was around medical, some things never changed.

It hadn’t taken Daisy long to make her way down there. She was a little concerned that Jemma might leave before she got there but she needn’t have worried. The lift door opened and Daisy spotted Jemma just down the hallway. She had to fight the urge to just fling herself at her friend, it probably wasn’t smart to scare the living daylights out of someone after they’d just found themselves on a starship in the future. Instead she opted for something just shy of that. She quickly headed down the hall, waiting until she was a bit closer to announce her presence. “Jemma, am I glad to see you.”

Jemma had woken up and almost immediately recognised where she was. A Starfleet sick bay. And, while her immediate concern had been where her friends were. She couldn’t help the little surge of joy and fascination that happened once she realised that she wasn’t just on any Starfleet ship. She was only the bloody Enterprise, no less. Fitz would love this.

Full of questions, she ended up pestering the medical staff around her with her questions. Mostly about tricorders, and the various other types of medical equipment they had. And, they had very nicely answered most of them. Before, they really did have to get back to work. Causing her to decide to find her way to her new quarters. She’d only just gotten out into the corridor, when she heard a very familiar voice.

“Daisy!” She said, throwing herself at her friend, and wrapping her arms around her neck.

Unlike some people who found themselves aboard the Enterprise at least the team all knew of it, they were familiar with the crew and what their mission was. Daisy had seen a few people show up here with no idea where they were or what they could expect from their new surroundings. Daisy herself had spent a good few days internally freaking out over the fact she was on the Enterprise with Captain Kirk and his entire crew. She could only imagine how Jemma was handling it.

She recognised the moment Jemma had heard her voice, she caught it in the subtle changes in her posture so she wasn’t at all surprised when her friend practically threw herself at her. Daisy braced herself and wrapped her arms tight around Jemma. It had been so long since she’d seen her, months in fact. Without any warning Daisy felt tears welling in her eyes as she clung to Jemma, it was if she were scared of letting her go in case she vanished into thin air.

“Are you okay? Last time I saw you we were looking for Anton Ivanov.” She already knew Coulson was from her future, she didn’t know when Jemma was coming from.

Jemma clung to Daisy just as much as she was clinging to her. However fascinating being here on the Enterprise was to her. She was terrified of being in a strange place on her own...again. Both Maveth and the Framework had affected her in that way. And while, she’d had Daisy most of the time in the Framework. The craziness of that first day after waking up in her own grave, was not something she could forget.

However, at her words she pulled out of the hug slightly to look at her friends face. “Ah, well I guess that explains my thoughts on whether we would all come from the same time or not. I’m from a few weeks after that.” Jemma tried to smile reassuringly as she continued. However, she couldn’t hide the worry that was in her eyes. After everything that had happened. She needed to find out how Fitz was. If he still…

“But, I’m fine. Have you been here a while then?”

Daisy couldn’t find it in herself to let go of her friend. She hadn’t seen her for months, she’d missed her and now she was here. She’d left her friends before by choice because of her own stubbornness and guilt but she hadn’t wanted to leave again. When she’d found herself on the Enterprise she’d been faced with being without those most important to her again but not through her own choice so to have Jemma and Coulson here meant a lot.

Reluctantly Daisy released her hold on Jemma as the other woman pulled back slightly. “Seems both you and Coulson know a little bit more about back home then me. He didn’t say much either but I’m guessing things are complicated.” Daisy saw the worry in Jemma’s eyes, there were a few people she could easily read and Jemma was one of them. She felt herself frown slightly, wondering what it was that caused that look in Jemma’s eyes.

“You sure you’re fine? You’re not just saying that are you?” she asked, studying Jemma for any signs that the other woman was keeping something from her. “I’ve been here since early February so yeah, a little while.”

“Physically, I’m fine. As for in any other way. It’s very hard to explain. And, honestly there’s not much we can do about it while we’re here.” And, Jemma honestly didn’t want to worry Daisy any more than necessary. Sure, she really want to have someone who understand why she was so worried about Fitz. Or, more specifically someone to comfort her as she worried. But, that was an extremely selfish thing to do to her friend, when Daisy would only just worry about something she could do nothing about.

“Oh, gosh. That must have been horrible, without anyone you knew. But, at least you’ve been stuck somewhere nice.”

“Okay, so it’s hard to explain so don’t try to explain. But I’m here for you, whatever you need I’m here so if you want to get a drink or something we can do that.” Daisy could see the worry in Jemma, even if her friend was trying not to show it. Just because she didn’t know what Jemma had been through didn’t mean she couldn’t be here for her to help her deal with it. If Jemma wanted to talk about it then Daisy would listen, if she didn’t then she’d just offer silent support.

“It was tough at first but hey, I got to have drinks with Captain Kirk. So I really can’t complain too much.”

“Thank you, Daisy. I am so glad that you’re here with me.” Jemma pulled Daisy in close again, before pulling back far enough to link their arms, and start walking down the corridor. And, she really was. It was something they were both very good at together. Being silent support when needed, and an ear to listen when the other was finally able to talk. It’s why Jemma had been so upset when Daisy had left them.

“I am so jealous. You’re going to have to introduce me. And show me around, of course.”

“You don’t need to thank me, what are friends for?” Daisy let Jemma pull her in close again, using the moment it gave her to get a grip on herself again. It was a relief to have her best friend here, someone who understood the things she’d been through and would just offer support without Daisy having to go over everything again in horrible detail. She’d walked away from her friends once and she hadn’t wanted to do it again.

“Of course I’ll introduce you and show you around. But first, drink?” Daisy asked as they walked down the corridor, she knew she’d needed a drink when she’d first arrived here and if Jemma had been through something even worse than what Daisy had lived through then she didn’t doubt her friend would need one.

Jemma couldn’t imagine how hard it must have been for Daisy to be here on her own. Well, actually she could. But, at least there were people here. So, she was just happy that her friend had been somewhere relatively safe. Relatively, because it was still the Enterprise. And, Star Trek was ridiculously famous for the random deaths of the “red shirts”, and would they in fact count as “red shirts” in this world now? All of these things added up to the answer of yes, she really did want a drink.

“That sounds perfect.”
