Summary: Bodhi watches the stars

It was disconcerting to say the least that none of the stars looking familiar. He'd been in space for so long, making his cargo runs and even before then he'd always looked up and imagined himself among the stars. When he was younger on Jedha he'd wanted nothing more than to be up there flying among them. None of the planets he'd seen or learned about were ones he'd encountered before. It was all new and somewhat daunting.

Sitting here looking out at the sky still gave him more comfort than the room he'd been given or the trips he signed up for. The thing which at the moment was comforting him was the chance to undergo training, he knew it would help him a great deal to be back in a pilots seat. He needed to do something, when left alone for too long he thought about what had happened on Scarif, the fact that if he was returned there he would be dead. They'd all be dead. Not for nothing though, he had to keep reminding himself of that. They'd done what needed to be done, they'd succeeded but it had been at the cost of all their lives.

Like many on the ship, Jyn couldn't sleep. Her dreams were filled with faces she'd never see again. All except on. The pilot, Bodhi. Least he was here and that gave her some type of comfort. As she came to the viewing deck, she would come to see that familiar face that no longer haunted her dreams. "You couldn't sleep either?" She said in her that accent that escaped her lips.

Her frame coming to stand not far from him as she herself came to look at the stars and black skies that surrounded them. She had no home to return no, no friends to reconnect with, except him. Of course, there were others here from their world, but from the future, it would seem. That alone was still something rather difficult for her to swallow. She missed her friends. She kissed K-2 and his wise cracks.

She missed Cassion most of all.

Bodhi looked at her and shook his head, "I have dreams" he admitted before he gave her a wry almost sheepish smile, "Or maybe nightmares. It's all mixed up when I sleep" he gestured to his head. When he tried to sleep everything flashed through his mind.

Of course Bodhi knew she missed the others, he did too despite only knowing them for a short amount of time. Jyn's father was the one who had made the biggest impact for Bodhi, he owed the man a lot and having gotten to know Jyn he knew she had the same strength he saw in Galen.

"I know all too well of nightmares." She stated as she came to look towards her friend for the moment. They were both figures lost in the time it almost felt. As if they weren't supposed to be here. At least, that is how Jyn felt. "Do you feel guilty? That we are here and not the others?" She asked as she came to look up at the stars.

Stars that were strange to her. Brought to a time she knew nothing about. She had nightmares. Of the others. She hoped and prayed they didn't suffer. She saw faces of those she loved too late and lost too quickly. His embrace still haunted her skin. In a sense, she wished she was still dead, at least she wouldn't feel this... Void.

It did feel strange, to be out of their time. Alive in a time when they should be dead, it was like a connection that didn't quite fit in an engine. He nodded, "It doesn't seem right. I didn't do much, my role in everything was small yet I've been given this chance" Cassion did far more than Bodhi had, he knew that and it seemed wrong to him. Perhaps the powers that be had made a mistake, those who brought them here might have done so accidentally.

Bodhi's nightmares did consist of the others but mostly they involved what had been done to him by Gerrera and the Bor Gullet. The things the creature had pulled from his mind and how it had left him confused and missing parts of himself he was still gaining back.

"I know the feeling, friend." She said as she came to exhale deeply. "Maybe whatever force brought us here will bring the others as well." She said with a light sigh escaping her lips as she came to look over at Bodhi. "What are your nightmares made of?" She wanted to see what troubled her friend.

"And your role was not small. You helped get the connection through. Without you, we would have failed." Her hand came to rest on his shoulder for the moment as she watched him closely. "There were no small parts in what we all did."

	"Maybe. It would be nice to think they could join us here" he admitted, it might ease some of both their dreams if more of them arrived. He was quiet for a moment before telling her softly "Bor Gullet is in them a lot. "I see Cassian mainly in mine." She stated as she kept staring out at the stars. "Remember friend, even the smallest roles hold the biggest impact." She said as she came to smile lightly at him. Her eyes looked back to the stars.

"Are you going to go to shore to the planet announced?" She asked. Jyn herself didn't know anything about Earth and wasn't sure she was ready to surround herself with so many people. Let alone at a time, she knew nothing of.

"You were together at the end? Not alone?" he asked her, he'd assumed they had been and been grateful for that but perhaps it was harder. Jyn seemed to be struggling more than Bodhi was, it made him sad and worried. He gave her a nod before looking back at the stars as well.

"Maybe" he said, "I think I should but there are so many people here and there will be more on the planet. I like the quiet, my mind doesn't react well to a lot of noise" When things got too loud he got more easily confused.

	When asked if she and Cassian were together, in the end, she would sigh deeply. "I can still feel his hold on me before the blast engulfed us." She stated as she came to look at the stars. "This world is different from ours. And the planets aren't any that we know." She added as she brushed her hair from her face. "But like you I'll probably stay on this ship." Han's reasons for not sleeping were somewhat different than Bodhi's, of course, but he still found himself up in the viewing area, looking out at the stars. He knew that he was in a somewhat lucky position, at least having some of his family with him. Still, he missed Leia, *his* Leia, and the Luke he knew so well. Heck, he'd even be glad to see Mara, provided she didn't show up too early in her history.

Even for him, it was still daunting, though. He couldn't help feeling for the other group, the ones he'd learned died trying to get the plans out. And were they in his timeline as well? Had they been another part of things with Katarn and Ors, or had it been completely different? They were alive here, but as soon as they got home...

He kept thinking of the kids and what all they had to have gone through. He knew there were things they weren't telling him, and though he was all right with that, it made him wonder a lot, too. They were so much older, so much more experienced. What had happened between his time and theirs?

And then there was Vader. Still giving him nightmares at times and still heavy on his mind at the moment. He would be, as long as so much of his family was here. Han hoped that if it came to it, they were better at fighting Vader than he'd ever be with no Force.

The one good thing here was going through training. At least he could get back to flying again. He thought he recognized Bodhi from the training classes, but wasn't completely sure.

"Guess I'm not the only one with trouble sleeping..." he said. "Just seems kinda nice to come up here and get into a familiar surrounding...the stars, at least."

Bodhi looked over as Han Solo joined him, he knew who he was of course, he learned a lot about what he and Jyn and the others had set in motion and that Han Solo was a big part of the win against the Empire.

"I find them comforting, even though they aren't my stars" he smiled a little, "I'm hoping they might become my stars, at least for a while" Because it would mean he got a second chance to live a life he'd never had.

	"Stars are like home" he nodded in return, even if they weren't the same ones it was the closest he could get from here. "Thank you. I hope so too. 	"That's the best way to look at it." Han nodded. "You know, I think there were a couple groups working on it...Luke works with a guy named Kyle Katarn who said he played a big part in the whole thing. Unless it's the timeline differences again.
