WHO: Kitty Pryde and Daisy Johnson
WHEN: 226405.20 morning
WHERE: Gym
SUMMARY: Sparring!
WARNINGS: TBD

Kitty had learned from fuzzy blue Kurt the art of the workout to get over a hangover. It beat the hell out of one of her ex’s idea that involved copious amounts of scotch, anyway, and it had always worked for her.

So she was more than happy to help someone out, even if the hangover wasn’t actually induced by alcohol. The replicator had provided her with workout clothing that thankfully didn’t look like it came out of the 60s or 80s. That had been a concern, Kitty had had momentary nightmares about what Troi and Crusher had worn. But she’d been given a simple black sports bra and workout shorts. She tied her hair back and sipped some coffee while she waited.

Daisy still felt like her head was spinning, she'd had months of memories stuffed in her head that hadn't been there when she'd gone to sleep last night. It was a jumbled mess and she still felt nauseated from it but she didn't want to face it all, face those memories and what they actually meant.

It had taken her a few minutes to find the clothes she used for working out, either that was a testiment to how messed up she was or just how little she'd worked out since being on the Enterprise. She quickly dressed in the yoga pants and top before running down to the gym.

As she walked in she smiled towards Kitty, seeing the coffee in the other woman's hand and wondering if she maybe shouldn't have tried to eat something before heading here. "Don't suppose you brought extra?"

"I did." Kitty nodded towards a weightlifting bench, where a yellow and blue mug sat steaming. "Caffiene, my one true addicition. And you really do look like you've been on a bender."

It could be worse, Kitty thought. But she'd probably have made that joke anyway.

"Okay, you may just be my new favorite person," Daisy said as she headed towards the mug of steaming coffee. "I feel like I've been on one just without the fuzzy fun memories that usually come along with one." The only upside to all of this was that she hadn't gotten blackout drunk and done something stupid in front of anyone currently on the Enterprise.

Daisy took a large drink from the mug, letting the caffeine brush away some of fogginess that was still clinging to her brain. "Thanks for the coffee, I owe you one," Daisy said as she put the mug back down and went about stretching out a bit.

"Kitty Pryde, everyone's favorite." Kitty set her cup aside as Daisy started stretching. "I haven't been on a bender in a long time. I think waking up underneath my best friend in a rowboat in a small Scottish town was a formative experience."

"Everyone's? So a very popular lady. But I get that if you bring coffee to those suffering from random hangovers with unknown causes," Daisy said as she finished stretching. "If I'd actually been on a bender I wouldn't mind so much. Please tell me there's more of a story there and that you're willing to share."

"Unless you're a bad guy, then I'm nobody's favorite. It's a long list." She winked, and held her arms out in a classic come-at-me-bro fashion. "It was when I was on a superhero team called Excalibur. An off-shoot of the X-Men, not to be confused with the Avengers or Inhumans. I think there was plastered snogging, Ray wouldn't meet my eyes for like a week."

"Not counting bad guys, they only ever like themselves." She smiled as Kitty invited her to start them off, taking a moment to center herself first. "Can't say I've heard of Excalibur but then I'm guessing we're from different realities. Wait, you have Avengers and Inhumans?Weird. But that's secondary to the story. Were you both plastered because if you were then no big deal, right?"

Daisy didn't wait for an answer, she moved towards Kitty, intent on knocking the other woman off balance with a feign towards the right before hitting left. Admittedly she wasn't in top form this morning but she was still going to give it her all.

"Not counting badguys," Kitty agreed. She didn't get a chance to answer the next question, not just yet. Daisy moved like an expert, not like one of her students and Kitty's blood started racing. She hadn't fought or sparred with someone who was a challenge in a long time. It was exciting.

She pretended to fall for the feint before blocking with her left forearm and snapping her foot out towards Daisy's stomach.

It was second nature, the way she moved was more instinct than training at this point. She didn't know what Kitty's skill level was but she wasn't planning to hold back, not unless it looked like the other woman couldn't keep up. Daisy didn't think Kitty would want her to hold back, she'd talked about being on a team so she had to know how to fight.

Her move was easily blocked, unsurprising really. The foot heading towards her stomach was barely registered in time, Daisy lashed out to block the shot with her arm, too late to do much more than deflect it. If her head had been in the game she'd have countered better. Her own foot went out towards Kitty's shin in an attempt to knock the other woman off balance.

Kitty could keep up. Her training had been among the best, and she'd kept it up on a daily basis. She was a morning person, and the insufferable kind at that.

"Not bad," Kitty taunted, bouncing back to get some distance. There was always something a little fun about learning a new sparring partner. "Clear that fog in your head and I might almost be worried."

No worries, it happens

Daisy was normally better than this, she was off her game and if she wasn't careful she'd end up on her ass.

"Thanks," Daisy replied, taking a second to try and clear some of the lingering fuzziness from her head. Her eyes tracked Kitty, waiting for any sign of another blow being thrown. "I'm normally more with it but foggy head and all. Clearly we'll have to try this again when I'm less impaired."

Kitty held up her hands. Daisy would be a formidable opponent, if her head was in the game. But it wasn't,and she didn't want to push it. "Agreed. You've got a lot of talent. I know actual ninjas who you might be able to keep on their toes."
