IC/OOC Post - Starfleet Mtg
Who: Senior level Starfleet Personnel from this timeline (AOS) & all alternate timeline Starfleet Personnel
When: Stardate 226405.15 1800H
Where: Senior Staff Meeting Room
What: Starfleet briefing

As part of his role as senior advisor, Pike has organized a briefing for senior starfleet personnel, to consolidate knowledge about timelines, technology, nebula, time travel, nebulas, and other related topics. Basically, if you have information, he wants to know. Forewarned is forearmed and all that. Light refreshments will be provided at the meeting since it's during dinner and Pike will be running it. If folks want to share information with Pike confidentially, he's okay with that, but if he needs to use the info, he will.

So, sharing time! Comment below if your starfleet char attended, what they talked about, etc.. Or to thread out anything.

Jim came, naturally, because he thinks it's a good idea which is why he okayed it with the admiral. He probably won't bring anything specific up, but he will answer any questions that are asked and listen and might even take notes for himself.

I imagine Pike is relying on Jim's yeoman or someone to take notes. Since Pike will probably be doing the standing and pacing thing for part of the meeting. ;)

Well yes, Yeoman Rand will be taking notes. But like, Jim will be too. Yes, really.

Jadzia attends of course. Sharing her perspective on the Borg. She wanted to bring up the Dominion threat but decided to confer with the Starfleet officers from her time first before bringing it to Pike. So she was holding back some things.

McCoy attends and, to everyone's surprise, actually looks happy to be at a staff meeting, because he finds this one useful and he can't resist buttering up to Pike.

He comes prepared with a few holos and plenty of data, including some that was collected by Ambassador Spock in the other timeline, showing all pertinent discrepancies that have been publicly divulged for everyone, in case someone has a timeline mixed up.

He also brought an apologist's write-up on tribbles, but keeps that little gem to himself.

(Pike considers McCoy responsible for saving his life, so no need to butter up. ;) )

Pike is definitely pleased with McCoy's reports and thanks him.

(Yes, but Bones harbors this secret desire to be Pike's favorite so he'll butter him up anyway)

McCoy says one too many thank yous. It's embarrassing.

Scotty's there. And like Bones, as a load of holos and things with him. Especially Ambassador Spock's info from his alternate self.

Riker has already talked a little bit to Pike about the Borg but he would have answered any other questions that came up. He would have talked to him privately about the Borg's assimilation of Picard and the events surrounding it as it's not easy for him to talk about but he would want Pike to know about it.

He would definitely mention Q because he's still convinced that he's somehow responsible for this whole thing. Also, he would have shared that both Kathryn and Deanna wwere also wondering about this before they left. And correct me if I'm wrong but I'm p retty sure Jadzia and B'Lanna have met Q as well? Or know who he is at least. I'm not as familar with the later seasons of DS9 or most of Voyager because that was around the time my kiddo was born and i didn't keep up with TV very much.

Seven attended, as promised, and provided them with the bare, base knowledge necessary to understand the Borg, along with correcting any incorrect or wrongly assumed information from the Alpha Quadrant side (sorry, TNG/DS9 for all those pesky VOY retcons). On the subject of the technology aboard the Narada, she would have informed them that if the Collective detected it, it would take them decades to reach the Alpha Quadrant (as they've yet to assimilate transwarp technology), and they would send a single scout ship — not an armada, à la the current IDW comic arc. She would have also stressed that it's unlikely the Borg are responsible for the travelers, as they've punched holes in dimensional walls before, and it did not produce the desired results. Nevermind the Collective being direct in their efforts; they would have already made themselves known. Hiding is not in their nature.

Feel free to have your characters notice that her pronouns got garbled a bit during this: we instead of I, our instead of they, us instead of me, etc.

Also, she would have answered any questions that were asked. If you want to thread some of those questions out, I'm happy to do so! Or I can just tell you what she would have told your character in response to their query.

Pike will definitely have noticed the pronoun switch and would have been concerned enough to go up to her afterwards.

He will reiterate that currently the borg are not a threat, but that discussing threats starfleet - and particularly the enterprise have encountered in alternate timelines might help them be prepared for anything they encounter here.

She wouldn't have noticed until he pointed it out, and would have explained that it hasn't even been a year since she was last Borg. And having been Borg longer than she was human, not speaking about the Collective as if she isn't still one of them is difficult.

To that, Seven will agree, though will continue to be overall reluctant to do anything beyond this timeline's present capabilities.
