It's not even been a week, and I already miss my ship. Any chance I can learn to fly this thing?

Mine too. Not sure she flew on love. More just damned luck. But, either way. Only home I've known since I was 9.

That was just something the captain, Mal, used to say. It was the secret to flying, he told me. Love tells you when she's hurting before the hurt starts, keeps her going on that last three miles of gas...

He was a romantic, I think, though he would glare at me if I said so. Luck sounds just as appropriate.

She's been my home since I was 16, but I'm not much older now.

Sounds like a clever guy, your captain.

Don't matter how long she's been your home for. As long as you treat her as well as she treats you.

She fell apart a lot and sometimes even stranded us out in the black, I think maybe I treat her better than she treats us.

I wonder if we'll ever stop missing them, our little homes.
