WHO: Loki & Elsa WHEN: 226404.15 WHERE: Empty room aboard the ship. SUMMARY: Inaugural Meeting of the Royal Ice Magic Squad WARNINGS: N/A (In-Progress)
Loki did not much care for a lot of the monotony of this place. Sure, things in Aagard were often the same from day to day, but they were still far more interesting, to Loki. Back home Thor and companions were always rushing off on foolish adventures, ones that he used to go with them on, then started to refused to attend unless he felt like it but waited a little more anxiously than he cared to admit to hear the inflated stories about, later. There was always something happening, even if it was not something that Loki directly involved himself in, and if not, he had endless reading material - ancient books older than even Odin, magical things to learn and explore and secrets to uncover and create.
Even with his memories of home tarnished and poisoned, he wished to be there. It was a weakness, he supposed, but it was what it was. He could no more stop it than he could forget that which he now knew. Asgard would always be home, at least until he could replace it or purge it from himself.
So, yes, while Asgard had it's own share of boring days, it had something to do. He always had a purpose. Here, he merely had this thin pad of metal and glass, and while there were some things that were posted that he found interesting, more often than not he cared very little about what he saw displayed there. Most of it was so very ordinary. For being in another section of space - and, apparently, time - than he had even been aware existed, things here were really quite mundane and boring.
What was not boring was the sparks of power he could sense on board the vessel, sometimes close, sometimes far, sometimes brighter and sharper in his focus, sometimes dim and indistinct. None of them felt familiar - they were magic of some description, but they were not all the same magic. They were not magic like he had ever seen. They fascinated him, but he was not certain if he should approach the subject publicly, over the communication network in place. Not everyone here had that spark, and even fewer a number than in Asgard - and little was mentioned about it, on the networks. A few mentions, here and there, but for the most part it seemed to go unnoticed.
One of the bright spots of power surged suddenly, and Loki watched it (well, strictly speaking he was not watching, not really; it was all within his mind, nothing like seeing or hearing at all but somehow both at the same time), focused in on it. It was not very far away. He stretched his senses out to see if there was any sort of distress in the area, but he could feel nothing noteworthy, just he background hum of the passengers...
Curious, and bored enough to act upon this curiosity, he stepped out of his chambers and followed the signal of the power as if following some sort of visible beacon. He paused outside a closed door, not quite hesitating, listening, keeping his senses trained on that magical spark he had followed here. Nothing seemed to be amiss inside, but he reached out and opened the door, regardless, quietly pushing it open without bothering to knock or announce his presence.
