Kate Beckett ([info]katebex) wrote in [info]toboldlyrpg,
It wasn't the most dignified reaction, but Kate's snort of amusement was genuine. Excitable was definitely the word to use for her husband and his reaction to life on the Enterprise. Peggy had no way of knowing it, but that was just how Castle lived his life. It was just that being on the ship among so many of his childhood (and adulthood) heroes was a bit overwhelming. "He loves it," she replied, swirling her own glass of wine - Kate had kept to her standard and gone for a bold red - "I don't think a day has passed since he got here where he hasn't had a moment of glee at something or another."

"How are things going with you?" she asked, genuinely interested to hear what Peggy had to say. Not so long ago, it had been just a handful of them on the Enterprise and the two of them had bonded in mutual confusion and, at least on Kate's end, a need not to panic. But as more people had arrived, it became harder to find time to spend together. "I know you've been busy with all the arrivals, but some of them are your friends so that's got to be nice."

Well, by friends she really meant Steve Rogers, but Kate didn't bring him up directly. If Peggy wanted to talk about it, she would.
