Character(s): Ginny Weasley, Luna Lovegood
Location: Diagon Alley
Summary: A little Kneazle and holiday shopping.

"What are you going to call her when she's grown?" Luna asked her without looking up from the assortment of brightly colored mittens she was examining at one of the little carts set up in Diagon Alley to sell to holiday shoppers. There were little flakes of snow swirling about, just enough for a holiday atmosphere without coating anything.

"Who? Baby?" She still hadn't settled on another name for her Kneazle. "I'm still thinking on that one. Nothing I've come up with seems to suit her." Ginny had considered naming her for Albusa Perciva Winifred Brianna but her Kneazle had howled quite loudly when Ginny tried the name on her for size. She'd planned to call her Al for short but Baby was having nothing to do with that.

"The Great Cat of Re is a good name. Very regal. I think Daddy would like these, don't you?" Luna held up a positively ghastly pair of lime green and bright orange mittens with what looked like dancing Hippogriffs knitted in.

The thing was, Ginny was positive Mr. Lovegood would like them.

"Definitely. Unless they have a pair in yellow and green? He seems to like yellow quite a bit," Ginny observed. "Bill suggested Bast. I suppose Baby does look a little like those Egyptian tomb paintings of cats with her tall ears. I'll stick with Baby for now. Who knows? She might decide to tell me her name when she's older."
