“It’s okay,” Wayne sighed, reflexively. He’d forgotten again why they’d been fighting in the first place.
Oh, right. Telling people stuff. Shit, how petty and petulant could you possibly be? he thought to himself.
“You have nothing to apologise for,” he added. “I was being stupid. I know, right? Unheard of.” He rolled his eyes in a self-deprecating fashion. “I just...well, Ginny’s probably trying to figure out who it is I’m so excited about.”
Not to mention that Ginny probably thought it was a girl. But that was neither here nor there.
“I just don’t like hiding something I get so much happiness from,” he said, feeling for the first time like he’d explained himself properly. “You.”
Goddammit. He sounded like a freaking girl. And didn’t care. What the hell was Justin doing to him? Wayne chuckled at himself.
“The things you do to me...” he mumbled, shaking his head in mild disbelief. A silence settled between them then, and Wayne was always uncomfortable during silences. He tried not to squirm as he assembled the question in his mind.
