RP: Food and accidental company Date & Time: 3rd December 1998 | Early dinner Post Type: RP Open To: Private Character(s): Dean Thomas, Justin Finch-Fletchley Location: Three Broomsticks Summary: A little conversation, keeping out of the cold.
Dean had decided that it was time to get out of the house, be that house Braeburn or the castle, he'd been feeling cooped in after wading through textbooks for days. He'd waved off a couple of enquiring glances from friends and told them he'd be back later, and in the village if they were worried. Even though it was bitterly cold and there were traces of snow still hanging around from Wednesday, Dean had still decided to venture out. He'd popped into Scrivenshaft's for a new quill and some ink after managing to snap one the day before in a fit of frustration at his latest charms essay.
By the time he'd looked in a few more windows and given in to the pull of Honeydukes and bought some chocolate for later he was feeling cold despite his warm cloak. He glanced at his watch and realised that he could go and eat in the village before he headed back. If he headed to the Broomsticks now he could avoid people going out for the evening from the village or Braeburn. The only people likely to be around would be seventh and eighth years who had decided against food at the castle and a few locals and visitors. That suited Dean down to the ground.
After a quick consideration he rejected the idea of any alcohol and asked for warm pumpkin juice. He would have ordered tea but he always felt a bit stupid asking for it in the pub and it was too cold for something that didn't warm him up somehow. Looking around he found a free table that wouldn't be too near the draft of the opening door and where he could see all around him easily. Settling down he looked over the menu he'd picked up from the bar. Something warm was what he wanted, definitely something warm.
