I need clarification!
Okay, so I'm confused about some discrepancies I've seen in the way things are being played and I'd really like to make sure I understand what's going on and how I should be playing.
One: I've been called out for Fox fooling around with people he shouldn't because he's an angel. According to what I read, it should be really painful for Angel and Demons to touch each other, and nearly impossible to do anything else. For instance, I know that at one point, Erin BRUSHED up against a priest and then proceeded to vomit from the intensity of the reaction. I have also learned from Kelly that when Nox and Olivia kissed, Olivia's wings popped out and when Duncan entered a holy temple, not of an orthodox religion, he vomited as well. But when I asked Nikki about the connection between two people, since Fox fooled with both Cissy and Ingrid, she told me that it would be the equivalent of sticking your tongue to a 9v battery. Shocking, but not the end of the world.
Two: Following along the same lines, what are the guidelines for water and fire based characters coming into contact? According to my understanding, Starbuck is best friends with both Vinnie and Frankie. Starbuck is steeped in the water element, while Vinnie and Frankie are obviously fire based. And yet, the three can touch when they are not channeling their element. According to the race guidelines for elementals, and I quote, "Elementals are harmed a great deal by their opposing element though not by much of anything else." Also, "Mages have the added weakness of their opposing elements. Witches are susceptible to opposing types of magic. Magic types are quite varied in nature." Following that logic, the connection shouldn't have happened. Hence when Malakai shook hands with Jang-Geum, they both were hurt, though the contact was brief, and they were not using their elements.
Three: I am also wondering about how empaths are being played. Most I've seen are able to influence other players, but not control. However, I have seen Aden being played more as if he's omniscient rather than just empathic. Which is the standard, since I've never seen empathy be that encompassing?
I'm not trying to create a problem for anyone, just asking for clarification so that I can play my characters better.
