So, they snatch us away from our every-day lives and expect us to fight for whatever cause they decide and don't even have the courtesy to let us wear jeans?

I frickin' hate dresses...

Enzo? You have to be kidding me! And I thought corsets and petticoats were going to be the most annoying things I had to deal with!

And just for that, I hope you suffer in your corsets and petticoats.

Wait a minute...please tell me you're having to wear frock coats and hoes...that in itself would relieve just a little of my suffering!

I'm not suffering, though. You'll have to find something else to entertain you.

Thanks a bunch, you always did know how to kick a girl when she was down. Right now I feel more like the frickin' pumpkin! I don't have this amount of fabric in my whole damn wardrobe back at home. I need a drink.

Don't throw insults around if you don't want them tossed right back at you. I think you'll need more than a drink.

Oh yeah, Damon is here. Elena too.

I wouldn't expect anything less.

And I thought this couldn't get worse! I guess we don't have to worry about them for the next two or three hundred years or so then?

And yeah, a lot of drinking sounds real good right now. I'm going to have drink gin, aren't I? Why didn't I learn drinking gin at college, or at least something I'd find useful in everyday life?

Something like that.

Because you were too busy doing other things?

I don't know why I'm doing this, but your magic might not work here.

Well, Damon ditched me for Elena once, I think it's safe to say that I'm over it.

Right, things like saving Mystic Falls from all the evil the world can spit out? I think drinking gin would have probably done me more good, don't you?

Magic was the first thing I tried when I got here. Let's put it this way - it's safe to say this witch has lost her spark. It's possible I might have been venting at this damn dress because I'm not exactly sure quite how to deal with the magic thing.

I know. I warned you. Are you?

Maybe. Maybe not.

Ah, then you already know. I guess I didn't need to warn you. You're not the only one that's not themselves. I feel almost human here. I don't like it. You really don't like the dress, do you? It just makes me want to see you in it that much more.

I guess ditching friends is a Damon Salvatore trait, huh? I should have listened. What do you want me to say? That his decision to pull that dessication BS almost broke me? Tell me, Enzo, what did it feel like when Damon left you in that cell? Yeah, it fucking hurt! And I won't let him do it again.

For all the good fighting for Mystic Falls did me, I'd be better off drinking.

When you say 'almost human', what are we talking here? You're still a vampire, right? You haven't been fed The Cure or something?

I'm still unconvinced you've ever met a woman you wanted to see in their dress.

You had to bring that up. I get it. I know how you feel. You're done with Damon. Time to find a new best friend.

You would have died less if you had gone drinking more.

I'm still a vampire, but I'm not as strong or fast anymore. And compulsion takes too long.

Well, off is a better option.

It was the easiest way to explain how I felt. Sorry. Below the belt.

The same could be said about you, except that you did a fair deal of drinking as well as dying.

So neither of our powers are up to much here? How are you handling not being an all-powerful super-vamp?

I wasn't giving you that option! Men!

Moving on.

I think I had a good balance of dying and drinking.

My mood hasn't given you an idea of how I'm dealing with it?

I never thought you were. It will never be an option when it comes to you and I.

Excellent. Let's never speak of it again.

If I wasn't already aware of your vulnerability I might be tempted to say that, given you're still alive, the balance wasn't quite right. But that would just be my temper talking.

Just about as well as I am, I shouldn't wonder?

Good to know we're both on the same page.

I am sure you could. Far more comfortable. How my sister can wear a yukata in combat is beyond me. But it works for her as she is more of a long range Kunoichi.

Just a brown robe. Back home I'm the leader of the Jedi...we're a group of warriors but there is a kind of faith aspect to our lives as well.

So, the Jedi are some sort of ninjas? Or am I totally getting the wrong end of this?

[info]bonniesbennett

Well ninjas are a class or warriors from an Eastern continent of our world. I'm no expert, but focus and faith are a pretty big part of their gig, I think. Which is why they came to mind when you told me about your world.

[info]farmboyjedi
2016-04-10 12:26 am UTC (link)
It might be something like that, yeah. We use our abilities to defend others and keep peace in our galaxy. But meditation and study of what we call the Force is an equally large part of our lives.

[info]bonniesbennett

In your galaxy?! That sounds - well, big, and uber responsible.

So, this Force, is it like magic or just willpower?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]farmboyjedi
2016-04-11 01:15 am UTC (link)

It is, believe me. It's only possible because we have advanced space travel technology.

I think some might call it magic but what it really is, is an energy that flows through all living things. But only some beings can sense and use it. It can be a great power for good, but some use it for evil and that causes problems. Too many get hurt if they aren't stopped.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]bonniesbennett
2016-04-11 02:18 am UTC (link)
Here was me thinking we had advanced space travel, but we definitely don't talk about galaxies! Barely planets, even. Your world must be amazing. What's it like, travelling in space? I always thought it looked so peaceful.

I understand, I think. In my world we call it magic, but it's not a ninja thing. Magic is more...potent. Very few people even know it exists, let alone can utilise it.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]farmboyjedi
2016-04-11 04:41 am UTC (link)
It is when you think about it. I think there's a tendency to take it for granted too often when it's a commonplace thing.

It can be peaceful at times, and it is amazing when you think about it. It's also more complex than many think. There is normal space, and then what we call hyperspace, which is like a system of faster than light routes through the fabric of normal space. It's mostly even beyond my understanding, but it's what makes interstellar travel possible.

It does sound rather similar. Things were quite a lot like that at times, when very few Jedi existed and some began to consider it myths and legends. I was tasked with bringing the knowledge back and training newly found Force-sensitives after all of that.

If they did, I sure as hell don't remember it. So it couldn't have been that important, right? Besides, if we're here to fuck up history anyway, then I'm pretty sure messing with fashion trends ranks a few notches below changing the outcome of a revolution.

Why am I now plotting to pull a Joan of Arc on this place? Not that the men's clothes are much better than ours, but at least they don't have corsets. From that pep talk I'd almost be tempted to invent denim, if I had even the first clue where to start!
