Harry ran through the halls of the school, sparks flying left and right as he tried to dodge attacks and block others. Death Eater's running while, students in a panic, running for their houses. Harry managed to get a few Gryffindors back to their common room before he was off again, looking for any sign of the Order. He'd lost track of Luna when they'd left Ravenclaw and he was worried about her, but at the same time he knew she'd be ok. All of his friends would be.
Of course then there was watching Snape die.. Even though he and the potions master had never gotten along he didn't want to see him hurt and with the information he'd been given by him..
Now he had the memories of Severus Snape running around in his mind and he didn't know what to do. The chaos downstairs was insane and he didn't know how much longer he could avoid Voldemort. Harry leaned against the wall, closing his eyes as he tried to make sense of it all.
Remus was running down the halls, having arrived with the rest of the Order to be faced immediately with screaming and confused students. Some recognized him, and he used that familiarity to convince them to run and take cover in their Common Rooms. He didn't see Harry, Hermione or any of the others, and before he could even begin to look hexes were already flying at his head.
Remus had his wand out and was triyng to shoot his own offensive hexes around fleeing students at the Death Eaters that had caught sight of him. He took down one tall, blonde male in a flash of blue light and skidded around a corner as he saw Kingsley dash off to go down towards the dungeons. Remus headed in the opposite direction, and as he swerved to miss the fallen bodies of two students bodies, he saw Harry leaning against a wall.
"HARRY!" Remus called out, breaking into a jog as he saw the green-eyed boy.
Harry jumped when he heard Remus' voice and mid battle or not, he hugged the man tightly for a moment. "Remus," he said, still catching his own breath. "Severus is dead. Voldemort killed him. I don't know how much longer I can hide from him. This will all be over if I just give myself up and fight him." Harry could see the students Remus had avoided and the guilt was setting in.
"People are dying. To many people are dying.." Harry ran his hands up through his hair, trying to think, but all he could see was his father making fun of Snape and how much the man cared for his mother, laced with the green light of Voldemort trying to break into his mind.
Remus tried to look indifferent to the news of Severus, but a momentary flicker of surprise crossed his blue eyes. He frowned and tried to shake it off, not wanting his attention to slip. He had all his senses keen on the area around them, and he could hear yells in the distance as the battle moved through out the school. Remus rested a hand on Harry's shoulder and lowered his voice.
"Not alone. You don't have to do this alone. But we need to find him, before we lose others..." Remus glanced very briefly at the bodies he had moments before stumbled over, and noted how the young Ravenclaw female couldn't possibly be older than 13. Remus returned his eyes to Harry, "The Order is here and we're trying to work through the castle, but between the Death Eaters, frightened students, and other supporters in this school we didn't bank on. Where did you last see Voldemort?"
"He was at the Shrieking Shack. His snake killed Snape and then he vanished. He has to be in the school somewhere..my head is killing me." Harry glanced up over his shoulder, pushing Remus down another hall as sparks of red shot at them. With a quick flick of his wrist, he was able to disarm the Death Eater and send them to the floor, knocking them out.
"Come on," Harry said, taking off down the hall which lead them back to the staircases. "Remus I know I'm not alone, but I have to face him alone. That's how this is played out. He won't want anyone else there because he'll just kill you guys and I won't see anyone else die tonight that I care about. I can do this Remus. This is the end of it, tonight."
Remus wanted to protest heavily, he wanted to tell him that the prophecy left room for him to have his loved ones by him, but Remus had gotten to know that look in the other boys eyes and Remus knew debating would get him no where. Remus crouched when he saw a black-robed male round the corner with wand drawn, and Remus sent off a hex without a word that both disarmed him and sent him flying backwards into the wall, knocking him unconcious.
"At least let me go with you to where you need to go. There are too many people in this castle right now." Remus said firmly, looking over hsi shoulder as he heard Minerva barking orders at someone.
Harry stopped looking around, slightly out of breath. He was shaking and he didn't even know it. Was it fear or maybe even excitement? Harry was confident. More so now then ever. "Please?" he asked, nervous smile on his face. While a small group was distracted in fighting, Harry took off again to the next corner.
"You need to find Ron and Hermione. I lost track of them after Ravenclaw. And Ginny! I'm sure they're fighting with the DA but you'll be better in numbers if you all try to stick together. And if anything happens..I just want to know they're all right. That someone was looking for them ya' know?"
"They are all more than capable of taking care of themselves," Remus reminded Harry, but he understood his concern. There was a reason Tonks wasn't with him here right now. Remus at the top of the staircase that led down to the main hall, and looked over at Harry.
"I'll go find the others. Will you be okay from here?" Remus asked him quietly. Harry looked down the stairs, watching the mini battles take place. His eyes lingered to the Great Hall and his stomach dropped. He was in there, waiting for him. His head was killing him, but he shook it off, hand clutched around his wand. "I have to be," he whispered, starting down the stairs.
He dodged a few more attacks, stopping halfway down the stairs, looking back up at Remus. "Find them! I'll take care of him, I promise!"
Remus hesitated at the top of the stairs, but after he heard a scream that sounded vaguely like Hestia Jones, he just gave Harry a small nod and turned to run back in the direction he had come.
