"I don't know about that," he replied absent-mindedly before taking another bite of sandwich. If he were such a good brother, wouldn't he be making enough to afford a real home? Wouldn't he be able to take Candice out shopping for whatever she wanted when she was out of school? He had saved up quite a bit for her arrival, and all they had done together so far was eat at a cheap buffet once and see an old movie at the cinema. He could think of at least a hundred ways to be a better brother.
"You don't give yourself enough credit, you know. You are smarter than you think." Even though she had to work harder than others to learn spells and whatnot, she managed to get most of it done. That had plenty of merit. "If you study, you'll do fine. Then maybe you can get a better job, right?"
Then again, he had earned top scores on his NEWTs and was wasting his time selling quills.
