Who: Thor, Peggy Carter
What: Noise Complaints
Where: The Enclave, Fourth Unit
When: Backdated, 5/16ish
Warning: None yet, ongoing.

Thor's first few days in Cardiff had been a whirlwind to say the least. Throughout all of the new locations and faces he was being acquainted and reacquainted with, recurring statements were fed back to the Asgardian, complimenting how well he was "taking all of this." And though the Thunderer was already equipped for interdimensional travel, having undergone several instances of displacement throughout his near two thousand years. it couldn't be overlooked that appearing unaffected was a go-to coping mechanism for the former prince. Chalk it up to centuries spent as a conquering hero. Odinson, the protector of the Nine Realms. Not one reared to show weakness, instead perfectly masculine and impenetrable. If the current predicament was affecting Thor, he wouldn't be likely to show it. Though his skin was literally thicker than most, the modus operandi of smiling in the face of one's problems could prove toxic if those problems were allowed to remain unprocessed. Thus, after what felt like back-to-back social engagement with friends, new and old, Thor would finally retreat home to his prepared accommodations at the Enclave.

Not that there was much comfort to be had there. Perhaps a moment or two, staring out from the balcony. But even as he took in the view, thoughts continued to race. He thought about Torunn. He often wondered where the path might have led, had Thor ended up with Sif. But having a child and leaving that child on Midgard was far from where he envisioned that path going. He did his best to remind himself that it was him. It was Thor in another world. In another set of circumstances. But from what he knew of variants, they seemed to share core similarities. And it was that knowledge that kept Thor from shaking a feeling of responsibility for the girl. At the same time, if she was truly Thorsdottir, she probably carried the same sense of pride that would snap at the thought of being someone else's burden. How could he be there for her in a way that was genuine. How could he continue to be there for her in those times she might want nothing to do with him. It was a situation riddled with complexities. The sort of thing that would've been easier to think about, if he could get it off his damned mind.

Thor's pacing spanned the length of the apartment, vibrations reverberating through the floorboard and walls with each step, with Thor slightly oblivious to how heavy those steps were. Soon enough, however, those steps would come to a halt as Thor stopped dead center in the living room. He took a moment to admire the furnishings. Surely some enchantment was the cause, but the room had already been decorated to his liking. Various pieces of Nordic accoutrement hung from the walls, including a curious looking, circular canvased instrument. A shamanic drum, complete with a wooden mallet. Thor would step over to the wall where it hung, plucking it from the space, taking the drum into one hand, mallet in the other. There was a precise, resounding bang of the drum to kick things off. But as time passed, banging ensued. There was certainly a sense of therapeutic release that came from making the noise, and so he would continue. He would try to be mindful of his volume at the start.. but naturally would find himself carried away by the rhythm. Soon enough, he was back on his feet, adding quite a bit of stomping to the routine. Perhaps eventually leading to a chant. Things quickly would become quite raucous. It was quite the sight. Good thing there was no one to see it, as of now.

It has been a month, more or less, since Peggy wound up in this place.

It was strange still, being here, out of time and place of familiarity. Cardiff itself wasn't so alien to Peggy. Having been living across the pond, amongst Americans, it was rather significantly closer to home than most places she's been in the past decade or so. It should have felt more familiar and yet...

It was so abundantly clear to her that this place was like nothing she knew. Outside of the clothes that she arrived, she didn't have anything of her things. Then again, her closet back home would have been filled with pieces that were in style from the 1940's and 50's and here it was apparently 1999. Luckily, they had been assured that the so-called Ministry would cover the costs for their first month here. She was grateful for that, to be sure, but it also served as further uneasiness. Peggy didn't like the idea of having to depend on or be indebted to anyone else. Particularly someone or something she didn't fully understand,

Today, she chose a simple outfit of blue denim trousers and a top with nautical stripes. She opted to go with her trademark of red lipstick because it made her feel like herself. Her long dark hair was pinned back with a bobby pin. Not styled in the style of her era, but more modern, simply for the ease of what was readily available to her. What she didn't have on hand from her own purchases, she had flatmates.

Speaking of flatmates...

To learn that one of her newest flatmates was none other than the god of thunder of Scandinavian mythology, that any of that was more real than she could have ever known, was a mindboggler. To hear the banging and stomping that came from across the hall was distracting. He had forewarned her there may be some issues with loudness, but she hadn't expected to require to have a conversation about it so soon.

Normally, Peggy would simply buck up and endeavor to ignore it. However, she had a feeling she wouldn't be able to sleep through this later. And since he had said she should come to him first if he engaged in any 'thundering', it might be worthwhile to let him know this was an example of 'too loud' for his neighbors.

Peggy stood up and slipped out of her bedroom, crossed the hallway, and knocked on Thor's door.

It was a short distance from Peggy's room to Thor's. By the time she decided to walk it however, Thor would have likely grown carried away with reckless abandon, bringing the tempo and volume of his rhythmic crashing to a crescendo that was likely to drown out Peggy's initial knocks. From the other side of the door, Peggy might have even started to hear a wailing chant accompany the beat, signaling that getting Thor's attention would probably require louder knocking.

Thor's attire was plain enough. He had managed to acquire a second pair of jeans and a five-pack of cotton tee-shirts ranging from gray to black. Gray was the chosen tee of the day, giving Thor the look of a retro rock and roll drummer and he blasted away. Blonde hair rippled in motion as his head thrashed along with the beat. It was quite a sight, indeed. Not that Peggy could see it, though. She was still on the other side of the door, knocking likely to have resumed by this point. It still wouldn't come close to matching Thor's noise level, but luckily the indoor music reached a long enough dramatic pause for the knocking to cut through and jolt the Asgardian out of his groovy haze. Sitting upright with an Oh. expression plastered to his face. Intuition immediately set in as to who was there as Thor rose to a stand, in disbelief of just how quickly a jest in conversation became actual prophecy.

"Coming!"

Striding to and opening the door, confirming his suspicion and revealing Agent Carter. The pair of them, both dressed in plain, yet modern attire was a noteworthy contrast to either party's commonplace appearance. But in this setting, it seemed to fit.

Thor eyed Peggy, allowing a moment to pass without words.

"Let me guess. You came to join the band?"

Predictably, he didn't answer at first.

Peggy wasn't entirely sure her lackluster knocks could even be heard over the booming sounds coming from within the room. She didn't need to press her face to the door to hear the wailing noise that was... perhaps singing? She thought it could have been an animal dying, but that would have been very rude to suggest.

She knocked again, louder this time.

Fortunately, good timing allowed it to be heard when there was a break in the instrumentals. An equally booming male timbre announced himself and she stepped back a little ways from the door when she heard movement coming towards her. She found the door pulled up to reveal a truly gigantic man.

If she was surprised or impressed at the sight of him, Peggy managed to conceal it fairly well. The first time she saw Steve Rogers emerged from the Vita-Ray Chamber, post-administrating of the Super Soldier Serum, had been a momentous occasion. Thor appeared to be even taller and more muscular, if that were possible. However, outside of a few blinks, Peggy was in no-nonsense 'agent mode' and schooled her features into a neutral expression as she politely confronted the figure of myth and legend.

"I'm afraid not, Mister... Thor. You asked that I inform you if I felt you were being too clangorous. As nice as it is of you to grace us with your... enthusiastic playing, I regret I must tell you it would be too loud if you intended to play on later into the evening."

Whatever Peggy was doing to conceal her reaction to the sight of Thor, it would be met with a steely gaze from Thor himself as he established eye contact. That contact remained unbroken throughout her stern words regarding his apartment volume level. And though the grin cracking the Asgardian's lips open might have made his visage a bit more expressive, his intention and true emotion might have been equally ambiguous. Indeed, though the increasing seconds would only keep Peggy and Thor further locked in a staredown, there was a layer of goofiness to Thor's expression that made it's seriousness questionable, even if only slightly. Eventually, Thor would speak.

"Clangorous." His eyes widened for a split second before nodding. "Yes."

Eye contact was briefly interrupted with a backward glance, Thor taking a moment to survey his room's interior before returning his attention to the noise complaint. Exactly what he was looking for was hard to discern, but never the less, Thor's goofy expression was replaced with a serious one, and he'd re-address Peggy with a curt bow of the head.

"My apologies, Peggy Carter of SHIELD. Ancient ritual from back home.
I'll refrain from bringing it inside, moving forward."

With a lift of the chin, eye contact would be re-established. Allowing some additional moments to pass in silence. then finally.

"Right. Well then. I don't suppose you'd care to join me in finding something quieter to do?"

The god of thunder was a difficult individual to read. Was he upset at her interruption? Did he think she was tiny and insignificant? She's never exactly met a god before. Or rather, a previously believed mythological individual who was accepted by an entire culture to be one of their deities. Throughout her thirty-four years of life, Peggy has certain met plenty of men with sizable enough egos who believed they were akin to godhood. How interesting now to meet someone who actually possessed the credentials to back it up.

She didn't expect the goofy grin to break out across Thor's face. Even though it quickly smoothed back into a more neutral, serious expression soon enough. As if he thought grinning in the face of her request wasn't regarding it or her with adequate gravitas.

"Oh, that's quite alright. I'm sure you'll do fine to leave your... ritual... to daylight hours." She couldn't decide if he was taking the mickey out of her by claiming it was an ancient ritual or not.

Then he asked for her assistance in finding a more suitable activity. Peggy paused thoughtfully. Even if he wasn't Thor, god of thunder, she felt hardly qualified to recommend an activity around here where she too was so new. However, Peggy was hardly ever one to shy away from a challenge.

"Very well. What sort of things do you normally enjoying doing?"
