Natasha had always been an early riser. Not by nature as much as by training. She had also been a light sleeper, so each morning when Steve went for his run,s he'd heard it. Usually, her routine here was simple- get up, work out, shower, and have coffee. Her workout was a little different from Steve's- she didn't run outside as much as stretch and practice in her room. But it allowed her space. Privacy. And by the time she was out of the shower, usually, Steve was already finished with his routine, and there was coffee.
This morning was a bit different. She'd emerged from her space, ready to start the day to find Captain America stocking the fridge with an ungodly amount of eggs. And bacon. She watched him quietly for a moment, leaning her hip on the counter before interrupting the poor man who seemed focussed on his task.
"So what's the story here? Did you slaughter a whole pig, Rogers?" She knew about the Super-Soldier metabolism, but it was interesting seeing the sort of planning that had to go into it.
