The Rift was acting up. And if the Doctors and Unspeakables had been monitoring it on the day the Doctors first arrived, they would have noticed the same sort of readings. Someone was coming.

A bright light that could have been blue—or was it gold?—flashed in the very same spot both of the Doctors had appeared a couple months before. Out of the light stepped a man with his hand raised to his forehead, shielding his eyes. As soon as his feet were resting firmly on the ground, the Rift flare disappeared without a trace. The newcomer cast a cursory glance at the small group gathered nearby, and tapped an ornament on his chest. In a matter of seconds, he was completely encased in a suit of armor. As the face plate descended over his eyes and mouth, a slightly tinny voice called out, "It's been a long day, fellas. I'm not really in the mood."
