Cut tag lyrics credit: Dragon Attack by Queen

Jaina was starting to wonder if she would ever live a life that was anywhere close to normal. The odds were that she wouldn't, not growing up in the Solo/Skywalker family, but there was always hope. Now here she was in another time, another galaxy, on another planet and she'd had a conversation with a dead man. Who was also her roommate and not dead at all. She had reached out through the Froce hoping against hope that maybe someone else had come with her but it was to no avail. There were plenty of signatures here but none that she knew. There was also something else that felt different but she had not figured out what it was yet.

She was sitting at the table looking out the window when she saw it. A shadow passed by outside and for a moment it was pitch dark. Jaina got up and looked outside and what she saw made her blood run cold. It seemed something had followed her here and it wasn't something she had hoped to ever see again. She grabbed her lightsaber foo the table and ran for the door and then realized she probably couldn't do this alone.

Turning around she hurried to Cassian's door and pounded on it. He might still be asleep but right now she didn't care. "Wake up," she yelled. "if you have a blaster, grab it. We have to get outside, we're being attacked! Hurry, I am not joking!" The Maker knew he'd probably think she was insane but at that moment, Jaina didn't care. There was a Yuuzhan Vong ship of some kind out there and they had to take it down.

Cassian's sleep had been fitful at best, with scattered dreams of the past waking him frequently, but he had enough of a grasp on what was real and what was memory to know that the sharp knocking on his bedroom door was no dream.

Rolling out of bed, he pulled the nearest shirt over his head and grabbed his holster. The blaster wasn't something he intended to have far from him under any circumstance and certainly not in a foreign place where he knew no one and didn't know what to expect.

His time with the rebellion taught him to react to something like this and the expression on his face was somber when he pulled open the door a moment later to take in Jaina's appearance.

"Where?" he asked. "Show me." He did not question that her assertion was reality, which was perhaps a flawed old happen from so many years as a soldier.

She ran to the window and pointed outside, not daring to open it. "There," she cried. One of the creatures was swooping down from the sky, chasing people in the streets. From what she could see, there were more of them, how many Jaina didn't want to guess. All she knew was that they looked like her nightmares.

"I don't know for sure but they look like these things we were fighting.....they're a little different, I don't remember wings but they could be mutated." she ran for the door. "We've got to do something, they're going to start killing people!"

It didn't occur to Cassian not to trust Jaina's word. His gaze followed the trajectory of her hand and he saw the reptilian creature swooping down, with others in the distance. It certainly looked imposing and he didn't have the experience with the Yuuzhan Vong Jaina had described in their first meeting just the day before to doubt what she was telling him. If Jaina thought these were them, he believed her.

Without hesitation, he followed her out of the apartment they shared, running with her through the corridor and down to the street, his hand on his blaster and ready to draw it.

Jaina's heart was pounding as se raced into the street. It couldn't be, she kept telling herself, it couldn't possibly be...did they exist here too? She pulled up short when she got closer and realized that this was not some kind of Yuuzhan Vong ship. It was alive all right but she could sense it, not in the way she could sense a human but there was a life force, with the Yuuzhan Vong, she could sense nothing. "Emperor's black bones," she said. "what is that thing? Besides really pissed off?"

It was swinging it's tail and flapping it's wings and clearly was not please about the situarion it found itself in. Jaina turned to Cassian beside her and said "Have you ever seen anything like that? I thought it was...well I'll explain later but it's not. It's an animal maybe?" Which would explain the life force and she suddenly wished Jacen was here. He could probably figure it out.

"I do not know." Cassian's blaster was trained on the large reptilian creature, his focus on the thing that could breath fire and seemed to be setting civilians into a panic.

He shook his head without really looking at Jaina. Cassian didn't want to take his eyes off the beast that was swooping down toward them. "It's like nothing I've ever seen before. Have you... are you certain it isn't what you thought?"

Cassian didn't trust in the force the way Jyn had or the way Chirrut obviously had, but something about Jaina had made him inclined to trust her and it was more than obvious that whatever this thing was, it was an immediate threat to them and the others around them.

"I'm certain," she said, keeping an eye on the dragon. "the aliens that we were fighting, they were like black holes in the Force, I couldn't feel them. This has a presence but it's not human." She carefully moved, waiting to see what the beast would do and it followed her with its eyes.

"Also, the Yuuzhan Vong couldn't breathe fire even though they were esentially living starships....they couldn't do that and the wings, they didn't have wings." But damn, if they had, she could only imagine what they would be like. Jaina took another cautious step and the dragon swung it's wing at her, smacking her across her ribs. "Kriff! That hurt!" she yelled, trying to keep her balance.

Cassian nodded, even though he couldn't say he understood what she meant. He wasn't familiar with the species she called the Yuuzhan Vong and he certainly didn't understand how the Force worked. He wasn't certain how much he even believed in it.

"Whatever these creatures are, they don't see to be friendlies," he said. He kepts his blaster trained on the creature, ready to use it if he needed to. "What do you think we should do now?"
