Who: Gwen Stacy & Peter Parker (3).
What: Oh hey, surprise! Guess who's not dead anymore...
Where: The Enclave, Second Unit.
When: Backdated to July 3rd, before her net post because I suck.
Warnings, status: Likely none, ongoing. Will update as needed?
Or, that had been the plan at least.
A call of his name, the grind of a gear and a snap. The webline had been cut and it would no longer hold her in place as Harry and Peter fought above her. A gasp. Then, falling. Gwen fell and while she looked up and saw Peter dive after her to catch her and shot out another webline to do just that, she knew. This was it. Time is luck. Life is precious because it doesn't last forever. It ends. She closed her eyes and even as she felt the web connect with her body, she was fully aware the fall was too fast, too far. And then it was over. Gwen Stacy died that night. There was no arguing about it, she died the moment her head hit the ground with a crack. The end to her story.
Until she found herself in a strange place, completely unfamiliar to her and able to take steadying breaths to ground herself. Her final moments had been a mix of acceptance with the knowledge of her steadily approaching death but also a remorse that she was not only another loss to her family but to Peter as well. A hope for him that he would know it wasn't his fault, that he'd done everything he could to try and save her, that she didn't blame him. Now, she was filled with a...panic? Wonder? She wasn't sure if she could come up with the right word for it because it wasn't every day that she found herself pulled somewhere after her death.
Before long she would get some of it explained to her by the holographic message left giving her at least some of the information that she needed to understand where she was. She just didn't understand the how. But as requested she'd gone to the Enclave, received her room and her journal and then...she decided she wouldn't just hunker down in her room. Maybe it was being dead and now being alive -- maybe? -- once more, but she needed to get an idea of her surroundings.
A couple of hours passed by and it was a mix of wondering thanks to the place looking like she was stuck in an old movie she might have watched with her parents one time and the faintest bit of piano music in her head from aforementioned movies if she happened to be experiencing side effects of being newly resurrected and going over various theories in her head. This proved that multiple dimensions were real and it excited her, but the excitement was something that was tinged with melancholy as she had no one to share that excitement with. Thoughts like that finally turned her back to the Enclave.
She'd been assigned to the second unit and while she probably should have introduced herself to any of the others who were living in the unit, she decided she'd wait until the next day to do that. She'd settle in, she'd sleep and she'd wake up the next day and she'd feel more up to socializing and figuring out more of this place. Or, that had been the plan at least.
Gwen wasn't the only one returning, another figure was making their way to their room at the same time she was and it would probably be rude not to say at least 'hi' since she actually bumped into someone who lived in this unit, right? But when she turned to them all she felt was a swell of emotion -- and that damn music that kept tickling at her brain -- and had to blink several times.
"Peter?" Her voice was soft in question but it almost felt like she sang that as opposed to speak it. Now she really hoped that this wasn't the afterlife and she was actually newly resurrected like she thought she must be. Because if Peter was here, that would mean...that would mean...he died.
