Tonks laughed slightly again, amazed that she even could, "Yeah but your being a pretentious playboy- Excuse me, manly, sexy, mysterious bad boy isn't exactly something you could get arrested for, and not for lack of trying on MLE's part." She smiled up at him, truly smiled. The world was ending and he could still make her laugh. The world was ending and he could still smile like that. She understood then why she needed him so much. It wasn't just how safe she felt in his arms, or the comfort of feeling someone else's heartbeat against her when she'd never felt so alone in her life. It was his strength she needed. She worried so much about being strong in front of him, strong for him, she'd forgotten that the man had spent his entire life like this- trapped in that world- and still he could laugh and smile and make jokes. Tonks hugged him tightly, pulling away just enough to kiss him gently- almost hesitantly. "Thank you," she closed her eyes and kissed him again, "Thank you," she repeated, then smiled against his lips and gave his hair a quick yank, "I'm not impulsive," she pulled away, "And you could never put me in unnecessary danger."
Tonks sighed and closed her eyes, a cold chill running down her spine to the point that she shivered and snuggled closer to Rodolphus, "Did she say where? Or what they're going to do next?" She stopped then and considered what he'd said carefully, beyond the scope of an Auror. Fighting the urge to pull away to see his face, Tonks ran her hands gently up and how his back, "I'm.. sorry. That must.. That must be hard for you. Her going off like that, I mean."
